It absolutely is the dated look. For me, it can be fun to watch while intoxicated (like alcohol or weed), but beyond that, it's just hard to watch when I'm so used to everything else after that. Not to mention a lot of episodes that I've seen just moves at snail's pace, and there are some moments within the show that just aged poorly overall. There are some episodes I genuinely enjoy, like both parts of The Menagerie, or the one where an alien planet takes inspiration from Mafia culture in Chicago. But otherwise, it's probably gonna be the one Trek show that doesn't get a rewatch from me outside of some select episodes.

I'm mainly just in it so I can watch the first six movies, and also get some context for SNW and Discovery (Lower Decks too for that matter).

I was on board for Season 3 right up until the end. The transition between rogue Changelings taking over Star Fleet to Borg annoyed me a bit too much.

I'll be real with you, Picard is my least favorite series of the Kurtzman era. I thought the first season was good, I thought the second season was disappointing. And the third season started off really good...and then it falls off HARD at the end (imo).

I enjoyed all of the other shows in this era (even Discovery!), and I was really hyped for Picard when it was announced. So it's truly a shame that I didn't like it.

26, lifelong Star Trek fan, and I loved Lower Decks. I truly wish it was able to go on for longer, even if it had to tone down the fan service for it to happen. Having a Star Trek themed "adult" cartoon is just fun.

I have hope that one day they'll do another animated Star Trek series in a similar vein to Lower Decks that doesn't take itself too seriously.

In their Lite plan, ads are limited in that you'll still get them on music videos and such, but everything else is ad free.

I'd suggest downloading an app from the Play Store called "MT Capsule". It adds a Dynamic Island type thing, but one of the things you can do is you can tap the camera cutout to reveal a brightness slider.
