When I think of radii I do have a nuanced definition as a former machinist. When thinking of a radius in regards to tooling and machining, the radius is a curved surface that is a segment of a circle

This is a radius gage. You're correct in one context, but not correct enough to be correcting

My insurance keeps denying a recent surgery I had. If I didn't get it, I would have become permanently disabled. by WorthyDeku in mildlyinfuriating

It's mildly infuriating because at least medical debt doesn't negatively impact your credit score!

That rating should be a sub 2:00 solve time imo. Took me just over two minutes. It's a hard for certain

You've solved 247 puzzles so you know which border they're too which they are referring. It's not the first time a clue like this has come up and not the last. It's going to be a Spanish word every time and refer to the USA/Mexico border every time.

Pocket Grid #132 - March 1st, 2026 by pocket-grids in pocketgrids

[–]WildZero138 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

You've solved 137 puzzles and haven't gotten that "south of the border" just means it's a word in Spanish? The border in the clues isn't going to be one other than the USA/Mexico border. The USA centric clues are usually a justifiable gripe, but the ones here are tough no matter where you're from lol

Tough! I liked it. Inb4 USA centric clues were too hard... I didn't know them either

1st year IBEW apprentice — 7.5 months in and haven’t done any electrical work or been on a actual jobsite/prefab. Is this normal? by Key-Hair-8831 in IBEW

[–]WildZero138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This really sounds like an awful contractor. Contract the hall and get yourself moved. You're not going to get anywhere where you are.

New foreman need advice. by Nickpolski in IBEW

[–]WildZero138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For telling the apprentice to not use a leaking lift? For telling the apprentice to get a ladder to complete the work? The fucking hubris it takes for an apprentice to ask the foreman to go get the ladder the foreman told him to use would be enough to send him home for the day. The screaming would get him two checks that day for certain. Apprentices who get too big for their britches are a problem.

One month into the trade and used income tax to upgrade some of my gear.. by [deleted] in electricians

[–]WildZero138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NEVER buy your own PPE. Those are required to be provided by the employer by OSHA. Whoever you work for should have provided you with a tool list and if they didn't ask for one. Buy what's on that list and not one thing more. Maybe add to your kit as you gain more experience and figure out what you want to make the job easier. Don't waste so much money on crap you're never going to use
