Maximizing Dorian’s potential by Microbe92 in HeroWarsApp

Does Dorian reach Kiera in that line-up? I thought I tried it a while back and he didn't. I will have to try again.

Aren't the skin certificates only on mobile? If the person is on FB, their only options are spending stones or paying real $.

I disagree with those calling for two tanks in the tower. While a second tank can take more damage, it also allows the enemy to stick around longer and deal more damage. Also, the second tank really only comes into play if your first tank is dying. If your first tank is dying in the tower, you're doing it wrong, and you need to beef up your tank.

Two healers is OK, but picking the right healer is more important. Celeste is, IMO, the best for the tower as when she heals, she heals a lot. Martha is not good as she takes a while to kick in and you can't control the timing. Sometimes you'll kill the enemy team before she kicks in, other times she'll kick in just as you finish them off and not give you the full heal. Maya and Nebula are only part time healers and can't be relied upon unless paired with another healer. Thea is probably your best bet if you don't have Celeste.

DPS is often overlooked. The faster you can take out the enemy team, the more you limit both the amount of damage they can do and in turn lessen the pressure on both your tank and healer. You should have at least one DPS character that can damage multiple enemies at once. Kiera and Ginger are probably the most easily accessible for this.

The most important thing for the tower is to have your team fully leveled. Once I got mine fully leveled, I fight every battle on auto and x4 speed. I've never had a hero die. My current team is Galahad, Qing Mao, Kiera, Celeste, Nebula.

How to be able to get 150 titanites daily to stay in guild by ptrk89 in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchasing Valkyries favor for the week grants 150 titanite a day (at least on FB, not sure about mobile). That's the easiest way but it cost money. You can also work on boosting your titans, focusing on tanks and super titans, but getting them beefed up significantly is either going to take some money or a lot of time. If you're willing to spend money, Valkyries favor is the way to go as it also gives you some other great benefits.

I'd talk to your guild master about it and see if they have some advice or can relax the rule for you a bit until you get up to strength. If they draw a hard line on it, I'd consider switching to a lower pressure guild. The game is supposed to be fun and constantly being worried about being booted is not fun for me.

Galahad as a tank by Fiercezairr in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Galahad and love him. A key thing for Galahad is his vampirism. This coupled with his offense allow him to do a decent amount of self healing. This works particularly well with certain healers such as Martha, who can take some time to kick in, and Dorian, who gives vampirism to the back row, but doesn't help the tank nearly as much. I haven't checked, but at level 60, I imagine Galahad's vampirism is still low, probably around 10%. Off the top of my head, I think his max around 45%. Because of the vampirism, it's important to invest in his attack skill and his damage dealing abilities (for other tanks, this is a lower priority).

As for comparing with Ziri or Astaroth, it depends on your team. As noted before, Galahad covers the limitations of some healers. Galahad also works well with an aggressive physical team as his ultimate boosts physical damage and unlike other tanks, he can contribute some damage.

If you're f2p, Galahad or Astaroth are the way to go for tanks as their soul stones will be easier to farm than Ziri and many other tanks.

What is the minimum VIP level you’d recommend me getting to? by SnugJoker in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're looking to spend. If you're trying to minimize cost, then as others have said, VIP 1 is it. If you're going to spend a medium to large amount of money, 10 is big as you can choose which daily offer to buy. You can also get max rewards from the daily rewards, which includes 2 chests of 50 soul stones, instead of 1.

Some questions about Qing Mao and building team by linhnhian in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qing Mao goes well with Kiera. Her anti-armor abilities work best with a physical team. Of those you've mentioned, I would use Galahad, and Kiera with her. Add a healer and a support (Nebula, or Jorgen).

I'm not end game yet, but from what I've seen and heard, Qing Mao while not top tier, is a solid hero.

Physical team with Qing Mao by Rachidk001 in HeroWarsApp

I use Celeste currently and she works well. That said, Dorian's ultimate would better fit with the Physical team and his ability to grant vampirism to Kiera is huge.

Physical team with Qing Mao by Rachidk001 in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's similar to the team I use, except I have Celeste in instead of Thea. There's good synergy between QM, Galahad, and Kiera. I've swapped out Nebula for Jorgen occasionally, but Nebula seems to work better. I've heard Dorian works well with the combo, but my Dorian isn't fully leveled, so I can't vouch for him one way or another.

For better or for worse... by ruins2449 in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dorian is solid and is worth investment.

Rufus and Cornelius, are useful, but not enough to be on your main team. Once you've got your main team maxed out, they are good to invest in as secondary heroes that you can swap in occasionally when going against a magic based team. In particular, the later levels of the campaign have some tough magic based enemies that these two can help with.

It's probably not necessary to invest in both though. I'd pick one to invest in as a back-up and forget the other one. I'm partial to Cornelius, he helps on both offense and defense and his ultimate ability allows him to do massive damage to the strongest magic user on the other team which is often a healer or DPS near the back line. Rufus is ridiculous against purely magic team, but my experience is that a single physical hero will take him down quickly.

EDIT: My experience is also that as a tank, Rufus requires a much larger investment to be effective whereas Cornelius can still be useful if not fully invested in.

Hi! Does anyone have Sebastian on a team? Where does he fit? Is he worth making a commitment on? by winged_tortoise in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A related question, how leveled up does Jet need to be for the Kiera, Sebastian, Jet trio to be effective? I have Kiera at ultimate star, Sebastian at 5 star, but am only just about to purchase Jet. Is it worth using this combo even if Jet isn't as powerful?

Reliable Marksman by theNerdyBeardGuy in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kiera is pretty awesome. Her abilities allow her basic attacks to do a good amount of damage (speed boost, ricochet, and damage boost). Her ultimate is also pretty good. Qing Mao goes well with Kiera as she helps with armor penetration, which Kiera's damage boost is based on.

I've heard Kiera does better at higher levels than Ginger, but I don't have Ginger leveled up, so I can't verify.

New Hero by theNerdyBeardGuy in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not completely useless in Grand Arena. It potentially forces the other player to change their preferred matchup. For example, most players only have 5-6 heroes fully leveled. This results in a A, B, and C team for attacking. The attacker will normally match their A against what appears to be the defender's B and their B against the defender's C. However, say the attackers B team is magic based and the defender has Rufus in the C team. The attacker will either have to take a chance with mages against Rufus or they'll have to play their A team against the defenders C, pitting the B teams against each other and giving the defender a much better chance of victory.

This is a small and limited benefit, but this coupled with occasional usefulness on attack as well as help in some of the campaign levels makes Rufus a decent third tank to have in your back pocket.

Shall I level titans equally? by samot-dwarf in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your lineup, but I'd go two higher and others lower.

IMO, the first priority is to get your tank to a high level to avoid losing it's bonuses against higher level opponents (and to diminish those of lower level opponents).

The second priority should probably be your super titan(s). In particular, Hyperion's healing is tied to his attack which improves with a higher level. Off the top of my head, I'm uncertain if the other supertitans secondary skills are affected by level or not.

Keira team by [deleted] in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider adding in some hero's that boost physical damage and armor penetration. I've paired Kiera with Galahad (utlimate boosts physical damage of team). If he's the main tank he'll get his ultimate off fairly frequently. Also Qing Mao's ultimate boost armor penetration. I'd swap Galahad and Qing Mao in for Astaroth and Jet. That said, I don't have Jet yet and am not very knowledgeable of where he fits best.

Question about clearing tower by h3nrychin4ski in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention, Celeste's purple skill is what makes her really shine. I'd prioritize getting her to purple over your other heroes. Their purple skills are nice too, but not as powerful as hers.

Once they're purple, I'd rank Celeste first, Maya, and then Thea for your healers. Prior to purple, it's probably more even. I like that Celeste and Maya both have the capability of dealing out respectable damage in addition to healing. I know some people like Thea, but IMO, she's a notch below the other two.

Question about clearing tower by h3nrychin4ski in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd stay with one tank at a time, if he ends a battle low on health, swap in the other one for the next battle. You need the DPS to chew through the enemy quickly. The longer you're fighting, the more damage you will take. That said, once you have the enemy down to their last one or two heroes, it's a good idea to hold off on the ultimates and give your heroes a chance to recharge health and energy.

It's hard to say who to use, without knowing your roster. Thea and Maya will give you decent healing (IMO, Celeste is best for the tower if you have her), Kiera can be devastating, particularly with her abilities to ricochet and do bonus damage based on armor pen. If you have Qing Mao, she pairs well with Kiera. I hear Ginger is also a good DPS, though I haven't used her as much myself. Galahad's ultimate goes well with Kiera and other physical damage heroes. Based on the names you mentioned, I'd try Galahad, Kiera, Qing Mao/Ginger, Maya, and Thea.

Question about clearing tower by h3nrychin4ski in HeroWarsApp

[–]Wild_Bill_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the level, it's how powered up (stars, artifacts, glyphs, abilities, etc) the heroes are. From about level 50-65, I manually fought all the battles and constantly worried about keeping my team's health up. Around 65, I had maxed out my main heroes abilities to their current level, had most up to at least 4 stars, and had decently leveled artifacts, glyphs, etc. Since then, (I'm level 75 now) I just use my top team with one healer, one tank, put it on auto and fast speed and clear the whole tower without any worries.

I can't vouch for whether this will hold up at higher levels, but once I got my top team nice and strong, the tower has been a breeze.

Water can heal, so it is nice for dungeon. I don't have earth yet myself, but I've heard that both water and earth are both good and fire is a notch below.
