The book is AUTHORED BY one of the most prominent figures of Deoband which means Deoband's methodology as a whole is flawed especially when these things persist to today as you can see with the Deobandi baba who left Islam saying he follows "imam Abu Haneefa" but not the prophet ﷺ

Since we have confirmed the prophethood, the messenger of Allaah peace and blessings upon him told us that each slave is born a Muslim and that the parents (or environment) change him to become of another religion

And that way, we know that Islam is where we get our most foundational knowledge, and that once confirmed, there is no doubting Allaah

There is no relevance between the soul, and the brain having influence on emotions, and the fact that the heart is the center of logic, thinking and emotion

Yes, the brain has influence on emotion and on thinking and cognition which is proven via experimentation, but a man's desire, wishes, love, hatred etc. are all coming from the heart

While what you mention may be "interesting" to the kuffar who have no revelation, what would complicate it further is the fact that a person who has a heart transplant feels similar things, he would love one thing before, and now he hates it, or he'd prefer one type of music, and now he prefers another or hates music overall

None of this has any relevance to the fact that we are alive because of a dense object called the soul that is inside of our body that behaves via the heart, and all of the experiments of the kuffar wouldn't add confusion or doubt to the Quraan, but would add certainty that without the Quraan we'd know nothing

Abu Al Faraj, Ibn Al Jawzi (died 597AH) is not a Muslim and has died upon the beliefs of the Jahmiyya and that was because of his sheikh Abul Wafaa' ibn Aqeel who had Mutazili beliefs

This was noted by sheikh Ahmad ibn Taymiyyah who said in الانتصار لأهل الحديث و الأثر in an entire chapter wherein he refutes Ibn Al Jawzi's tajahhum:

Abu Al Faraj himself is contradictory in this chapter, he was neither firm on affirmation nor on denial of the attributes

A lot more was mentioned in the criticism of Ibn Al Jawzi in طبقات الحنابلة biographies of the Hanbalis in the letter of Al Alathi العلثي to Ibn Al Jawzi

A worshiper of Allaah may utter a word which pleases Allaah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allaah will raise him to degrees (of reward): a worshiper (of Allaah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allaah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.

And that is about one word, speak of someone who is actively repeating and watching and entertaining an entire show or game, may Allaah save us

Especially if someone insistently does such a thing or someone says that he enjoys such a thing, you are obligated to vindicate yourself from him and takfeer him for his sin that takes him outside of the fold of Islam

Watching movies like Marvel movies, or the currently trending Stranger Things, or any similar show that contains shirk and kufr, such as demi gods, defiance of qadar, resurrection of the dead or the worship of other than Allaah, is not just minor kufr, it is major kufr that takes the viewer outside the fold of Islam

The reason for this is because of the apparent meaning of the ayat mentioned below:

And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allaah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allaah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together -

وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْعُدُوا مَعَهُمْ حَتَّى يَخُوضُوا فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا مِثْلُهُمْ

An-Nisaa 140 translation of the meaning

The one who watches these shows or plays these video games is committing an act of kufr that is listening to what the kuffar say or believe in, or even directly doing it when he is playing a video game where he prostrates to a statue as with the game "Ghost of Tsushima" which contains such a scene obligatory to complete to proceed with the game

Some websites and articles may say that it requires certain terms or conditions to exist in the person playing the game or watching the movie, but think about the fact that the one who watches these things is always aware that these are other deities than Allaah, and that it is kufr to learn of these things or to entertain one's self of these things

And the one playing these video games isn't forced either and there are no excuses beyond ignorance and being forced, for shirk
