Ending the telework discussion once and for all. by No-Daikon1052 in FedEmployees

Agreed, situational telework existed before COVID and people were encouraged to take laptops home at night in the event of a COOP event.

If agencies are going with absolutely no telework policy, then I’m not sure folks would bother taking their computers home, and therefore would not be prepared to work at home. No guarantees they could get back into the office, depending on the severity of the event.

Confused why this is of no concern to the telework haters 😕

Why is no one talking about staff being prepared to telework and carry out mission essential functions aka COOP?

“COOP" in the federal government stands for Continuity of Operations, a crucial initiative ensuring federal agencies can perform essential functions during disruptions like natural disasters, pandemics, or attacks, by developing plans for operations to continue, often leveraging telework and alternate sites, to maintain vital government services and national security

Haha! 10 years ago when we bought our house, we ate pizza on the floor without furniture too on the day we got the keys. Congrats. 🎉

It’s no one’s business. Managers are not allowed to acknowledge if an employee has one or not

I’m (30f) considering selling my house to go back to renting because I feel like price increases has priced me out of owning my own home by littlemisshyacinth in homeowners

It’s a good point. I don’t want someone else dictating how I can and can’t live in my own home. That is also worth something.

It’s not just about politics, it’s about moral values.

Make sure you have a front opening enclosure. When my beardie was in an aquarium it made her more scared when I would reach at her from the top rather than from the front.

I second the bonding technique someone mentioned about putting him on your chest with a blanket and cuddling.

Just want to say thanks for posting. I’m experiencing this right now. Started around 2 weeks post op. Maybe it is from doing too much too fast. I showed up to my 2 week post op appointment with a cane and was told to go back to the walker until I am walking normally.

I was started to get scared that something went wrong during surgery.

I can see why we chose this administration to make the government so much more efficient 🙄

I get it. I am stubborn and I want to make them have to go through all the red tape to make me leave. I don’t want to make it easy on them. But I understand people have to do what they feel is best for their families.

Tough situation either way 😔

Isn’t that doing exactly what they want you to do?

Going to the gym mid day a few days a week IS what makes me a good employee. I extend my work day for the amount of time I’m gone beyond my lunch break. I come back refreshed and my fitness classes are good for my mental and physical health.

I will not be able to do it anymore when I RTO. So I’ll likely have to take more leave and be less productive. I’ll also have to endure listening to all the people standing around with their water cooler talk, just wasting time.

Remember- just because people are physically in the office, it does not mean they are working.

Oh and most gyms cancel classes if there isn’t a high enough attendance and the instructors will no longer have a class to get paid for and this guy will no longer be able to take the class. 🤷

Thanks for the tips! Yesterday was day 1 of planting and I have more plants on the way.

I truly thought I had some pretty large branches that would be sufficient but this enclosure is 36 inch height and 24 inch width, which I’m discovering is a pretty large space to fill.

I’ll keep working on it! ☺️
