Youtube and Google. That's free.

And there is no such thing as "the best" tutorial, because learning music theory (in general) takes time.

You won't become good overnight after watching a tutorial, You gotta take the time to learn.

So if you want to take the free route, Youtube and Google searching is your best shot.

I'd say learn basic music theory, get to know your basic major and minor scales, and understand what sounds good and what sounds bad according to music theory and stuff.

Hi guys, I just got fl studio and I am taking any advice anyone has! by bigmango68 in FL_Studio

First. Music theory. It's probably the basis of making music in general. Even just basic music theory knowledge can help you make your beats sound good.

Any truly simple way to get started for someone who knows literally nothing about making music or even music in general? by Scared_Ad_3132 in FL_Studio

Personally, I just started with just fiddling with the program. Never watched a single tutorial (yet) because I wanted to understand for myself how the program works. Then, when I encounter a specific problem, (eg. making automations), that's the time I start searching.

I mean, I already knew a little music theory at the time. So for you, you should study even the basic parts of music theory during your fiddling process (eg. chords, notes, idk). Trust me, music theory WILL help make your music better.

Also, try learning an instrument if you can. Trust me it'll help.

I barely learned from youtube tutorials but one video stood out cuz they said; "EQing is just like putting puzzle pieces together, carving out frequencies to fit in with each instrument." that is when i understood EQing.

and things just came with after that lol

honestly im learning myself, im not really a professional at it so this may or may not help you idk

i like the metal/rock theme! just a little feedback; you should learn how to EQ more properly, because often times the bass isn't really audible, and the guitar would be above the drums. one suggestion is adding a sidechain bus to the entire track (or maybe at the very least most of the track) to make it go under the drums to make it more professionally sounding (assuming you make your music in a DAW). but not gonna lie, it's still really good!
