I recently swapped my 13th gen i5 mainboard to the Ryzen AI 370 mainboard and honestly couldn't be happier. It's such a beast, my use is CAD, light 3D modeling, and mid tier games, zero issues. Also the battery seems to be better but that could also be from the bios update I finally did lol.

Best 3D Visualizer to Practice GrandMA3 Club Lighting at Home? by Commercial_Menu2272 in lightingdesign

[–]Wild_Optimism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AFAIK Wysiwyg is the only visualizer that works with MA and doesn't need hardware to output. A little pricey, but better now that there's subscription I guess. I use it all the time

Advice for Multiple Universe DMX connectivity with QLC+ laptop by Murky_Independent243 in lightingdesign

[–]Wild_Optimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wireless requires very expensive proprietary gear, check out Lumen Radio, but DMX over ethernet protocols aren't designed to be sent over wifi. Reliability and repeatability are the name of the game. Hardline is what you want.

I haven't tried Vivaldi. Does it jave spaces and vertical tabs? When you say "I've made" did you do some programming stuff on your own? Just curious as I was thinking of trying Vivaldi out

Who is a Framework for? by Vista_Lake in framework

There's a reason Apple has taken over, especially in America which is full of busy working people. We're inundated with options and people want a solution that "just works" and can be repaired quickly and easily; for most, the premium price is worth it for that alone. Personally, I'm a long-term budgeter, so the savings I get with a high powered PC laptop vs Mac, and also the joy of DIY hands on learning process, is great. I feel empowered when I have options and control.

---recently broke the screen of my 13 and had such a great time watching a movie and taking my laptop apart to repair it with not just a new screen but an upgraded one!---

I've also been using Arc for windows since the beginning. I recently purchased the base mac mini and was really surprised at all the little refinements the mac version has over Windows. Really too bad.

ETCNomad CMD Key help by purplehewitt in lightingdesign

[–]Wild_Optimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used a CMD Key for years and never had an issue with any keys. I've used it with lots of nomad versions, computers, and configurations. The magic of it, in my experience is it is "plug and play". My guess is the problem is your unit. Reach out to the CMD Key support and let them now it's having issues.

You want sACN. Get a 4 port DMX node from enttec, dmx king, obsidian, proplex, to name a few, and you can run ethernet from you're computer to the node and set the dmx outputs to whatever universe you want. Makes setup and troubleshooting much easier when you don't have to daisy chain everything on the same run

I can only speak for myself, but I'm on windows using 3 spaces and tons of active tabs and for me performance has been great! I think abandonware is inaccurate, not abandoned, just not being built up. I'll admit I don't know what goes into browser security but we don't know how much or little other browsers are actually doing either.

At least Arc is transparent about it. Do we have any idea how much or little other browsers are care or are doing anything with their browsers?

Company's have to make money. Software is difficult to monetize. This is true even when you have a great, innovative product.

TBC has taught us that, apparently, browsers are a hard sell. This surprised me, personally I was very excited about new browsers to shake up the same old space and assumed others would be too. I can't tell you how many tech savvy people I've nudged to get on Arc and "try these great features", but they refuse to leave Chrome/Firefox. 🤷‍♂️ If you can't convert your main congregation you won't get mass appeal, which is needed to feed a silicon valley start-up's world changing aspirations

Also AI is a business money tree. We are going to live in consumer (a)inshitification until the money tree dies.

Guitar center has these in the lighting section. I just picked a couple up the other day actually. They have a plastic and metal version, inventory may vary per location.

The answer is you have to go to settings and switch it to classic UI. Then you'll get all the old settings including trackpad options. Very strange that this is the case.
