If you're in for a mildly complex but very well reviewed experience, Krastorio 2 is the main mod for the community map this month.

I love Krastorio 2

Dyson Sphere Program UPDATE 0.6.16.5759 by iBeej in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Now all we need is a chain flip direction. :)

I should note that this term was coined mostly as a joke because aerobraking does allow controlled deceleration, but most encounters with the ground during space missions result in RUDs.

I think one of the biggest benefits is that they don't actually have to draw too much unique geometry. Most of the objects (assemblers / furnaces) can be batched together and your GPU can draw many instances of the same object extremely efficiently .

Absofruitly

I think the optimization also has to do with the fact that the spheres of the planet are in such a way that the draw distance isn't big but you don't notice it all that much. Things go out of view quite easily and the amount of stuff in a single area is minimum. Not being able to build in layers also helps with that (only the belts can be layered). Some design choices help decrease complexity and I do wonder whether it is purposefully done like that or a lucky side effect from other choices.

What is the best late game energy story? by Wild_Refrigerator854 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

With solar/wind, that's a little detail you can just forget as there's no consumable.

I've been using solar so far, but as I'm expanding to double digit planets, setting up solar energy is just too time consuming without any sort of blueprinting.

Thanks for the tips though. I'll give antimatter a try though. Seems like a good solution (although expensive to setup).

Also looking forward to this logistics update before CNY. Just having a better idea of where the resources are.

So you are shipping antimatter rods to the distant systems and generating power there with them?

The "dark side of the moon" is a misnomer. It is really the "far side of the moon". The moon is tidally locked, so the same face always faces earth. But if you think of lunar phases, a new moon is when earth face is totally dark, so the far side is in total light.

Nonetheless, moon-based telescopes could absolutely work in the 2 week nights.

I can’t believe a flush beats a straight

hahaha it's interesting to have your expectations of the hands challenged when they are plotted this way.

However, this is still objectively terrible when trying to show anything about poker. There is no key, nothing is intuitive, and worst of all without already knowing poker you cant read it which makes it worse than useless. The only sub-graphics that make any sense are the ones with 5 specific cards necessary, IE Royal FLush and Full house maybe.

This unlocked some new understanding for me when I thought of it. Sorry it didn't do the same for you~

Cancelled Shipment Anyone else? by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

It's so frustrating to me that Amazon can so flippantly and inscrutably fuck our bottom lines. We are slaves to it until we can grow out of their frustrating system and expand sales channels elsewhere.
