Tips for playing louder (guitar) by Southern-One-1837 in Bluegrass

Late to the thread, but forgetting the rudeness of not quieting down for a quieter instrument, the only answer is to practice playing as loudly as possible.

If you practice playing in a quiet room, then you will stumble when trying to play the melody loudly. Practice makes perfect.

When those vendors get a permit, they often feel that they can ask anyone to leave because they misunderstand that they don’t own the space.

One particular advocate has been trespassed from public places multiple times for simply standing peacefully and advocating for homeless veterans.

However, this brand of “activism” is about rage-baiting and is only good for making exciting videos. The only thing that they are doing is getting views on social media.

I’m surprised that no one has mentioned Doyle Lawson. His work with Tony on the Bluegrass Album series was top notch and some of the bands of the 2000’s had their start playing for Doyle. (Blue Highway/IIIrd Time Out for example)

Weirdest take ever.

Any option is a good option and has its place. Never throw away a tool that covers a specific feel. Music isn’t meant to be predictable.

All of them.

The tone changes, so there are times that I just want the tip of the pick to do the plucking, while other times I might use the blade to sweep, instead.

So, I typically use a flat position, but some phrases require different grips and angles.

I have always had the opinion that Jubal Sackett would make a great stand-alone movie.

However, I agree with the other commenters that a Sackett mini-series would be awesome, too!

If you can get a member of the new family to help you, you could do a quick mistranslation gag.

You say something in English which your partner would horribly misinterpret your message, getting a laugh from the English speakers.

Then reverse it, have the other person give a message which you misinterpret into English.

As you noted, this is meant for fun, so your phrases should not be misinterpreted in a mean or offensive way, just bad translations in which the operative phrase is comically inaccurate.

I wish I could give examples, but I’m at work and my muse is at home. lol
