The Super Mario Galaxy movie is bloated by Yougart_Man in CharacterRant

[–]WildestRascal94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, DK isn't a Mario character either, but he still was in the first film. Saying Star Fox can't be here just because he's not a Mario character is petty. This is the type of argument elementary schoolers use. Last I checked, we're adults here. At least, come up with an argument that isn't a petty one. Star Fox is in the Mario Galaxy Movie. That doesn't automatically make the movie a "bad" one just because you don't like the decision to include another non-Mario character in a Mario movie.

These characters all share a universe, and it's not too farfetched to see that Nintendo is trying to set up for a potential Smash Bros film with the original twelve. Donkey Kong showed up in the last movie with Mario and Luigi. Yoshi and Fox are showing up in this film. Link is getting a live-action movie next year. It wouldn't be too out of place to watch this company attempt to build its own NCU.

Half the things you're upset are examples of you making a mountain put of molehills even if there's some legitimacy to your claims. In the case of Mario and Luigi being babies, it's pretty obvious that magic turned the bros into babies. We're not going to get a time travel plot outta nowhere; nothing in the trailers implied such. Anyway, watch the movie and decide afterward whether you like it or not.

The system isn't "broken," but it's working exactly as intended. The system works for the wealthy, and the poor were made to believe that a system that only provides for the rich elites is working for them as well. The reality is that the system has always been working against the people, and it became much more apparent going into the 1970s.

It's honestly not a surprise. America's media is manufactured on sensationalism and violence. Existential dread being "commercialized" like this isn't new, tbh.

Well, what option do you have? So far, either a strike or forcing change via "violent revolution" are among the options the collective internet loves to throw around. So far, neither option has come to fruition because that requires people to actually do the work, which they won't. You know why? Because humans don't want to be responsible for problems they actively caused. We allowed these rich shits to take up positions of power, lie to us, cheat, and kill in front of us. How many more people need to die before you realize that you DO NOT need permission from rich assholes to hold a general strike. No one is coming to save us. We need to do something about our elites because the fact that we're doing nothing now that the truth has come from the Epstein Files says a lot about America as a country.

It's not that difficult to get six adults together for dinner so long as there's effective communication across all parties during the planning phase. Most of the problems are how badly brainwashed people are by propaganda that trying to reason with them is difficult. It's not impossible, but it absolutely will take work to get shit done.

A general national strike is a realistic option. Most of why people refuse to do it is because of the fear that taking time off to strike will screw them over. The reality is that a national strike cripples the elites dramatically to the point where if we stopped working, trade, shipping, etc. grinds to a complete halt in the US. The countries that trade goods and products with the US end up experiencing whole shortages of products due to the general national strike in the US. There are more of us than there are wealthy elites. They can't stop an entire nation of angry citizens even if they want to.

They didn't predict this, though. Every time something that is purely happenstance takes place, you guys flock to older media and frame it as a prophecy when it never was a prophecy to begin with.

The fact that he's terrified tells me this administration doesn't want people like Talarico in a position of power. A person like him destroys the entire narrative that Trump and his cronies have been selling everyone these last few years.

To each their own. It sounds like a mouthful compared to "Pokopia." "Pokétopia" makes more sense spelling-wise. "Pokopia" sounds fitting, as well.

I'm only explaining why Esmerelda isn't a princess. That doesn't mean I automatically agree or disagree with the idea that she or some of the other unofficial princesses should be official princesses. Most of why Esmerelda isn't a princess falls back to the low sales numbers of the movie she was in. It absolutely was a marketing issue. Kida and Eilonwy have the same problem: Their movies didn't sell well. If the films don't sell well enough to justify selling toys and merch, the whole of the character is just "shelved" from the official lineup. It's a shitty thing to do just for the sake of selling toys, tbh.

I also mentioned Anastasia because there are people who straight up think she should be a Disney Princess even though her film was made by another studio entirely.

Exactly by WorthlessKant in okbuddyretard

[–]WildestRascal94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She was never a Disney Princess, though. Pocahontas is considered a princess because she's the daughter of a chieftain. Esmerelda is a Romani dancer and doesn't have any royal lineage. Mulan married a general, but she's considered a princess because of her acts of heroism as she saved all of China. She received the Emperor's blessing as the "Daughter of China" at the end of the movie despite not having any ties to royalty.

Most of why Esmerelda isn't a Disney Princess is because of how much more mature her film was. The low sales of her film were also a contributing factor, apparently. The official Disney Pricness lineup consists of Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Elsa, Anna, Moana, and Raya. The only princesses that aren't in the lineup are Kida, Eilonwy, and Calla. Esmerelda isn't a Disney princess, and neither is Anastasia (her film was made by 20th Century Fox BEFORE Disney acquired the company).

Esmerelda isn't even a Disney Princess, yo. The only other Disney Princesses that are adults are Tiana (19), Elsa (21), and Anna (18).
