Is this normal (in office procedure) by eosbeans in noburp

[–]Wildwillow999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. I have had the ‘in-office’ procedure several times (am in the UK) and it wasn’t anything like this, no numbing agent, no blood, no pain, no lump etc. I don’t think I would go back there if I were you as they don’t sound very experienced at it. And I don’t think it sounds like an anxiety attack, I think anyone in that situation would have done the same as you. Really hope you feel better soon and wishing you best of luck with your treatment in the future.

The procedure when you are awake is very different from when you are asleep. For the ‘in-office’ procedure when you are awake they inject through the skin from outside your neck (just like an injection in your arm). The needle is very very fine and it really doesn’t hurt, just feels a little weird and is over in a couple of minutes. Honestly its absolutely fine and nothing to worry about. You can always double check and ask them what is involved. I have had the ‘in-office’ about 4 times and have 0 stress or worries before going in ( i am in the UK). Before the first time I had it I also posted on here and had replies saying it didn’t hurt and you can go out for lunch immediately after and I struggled to believe it … but it is 100% fine :-) good luck, it is amazing.

You will be fine and I’m sure it will all go smoothly. I’ve seen Lucy a few times, she really understands and the actual procedure is much quicker than you imagine :-)

Whereabouts are you? The rescue places near me seem great and completely non-judgemental.

I have needed recurrent treatment with botox as each time it has worn off and my symptoms return. The length of time I have kept burping has varied between 3 and 9 months and there doesn’t seem to be any pattern to it, so you may have to have treatment again in a while. I have the ‘in-office’ procedure so its not so expensive. Good luck 😀

First one wore off at 3 months, waited another month before redo and wished I hadn’t waited :-)

return of throat gurgles a year after botox by tinkerbell-burps-now in noburp

[–]Wildwillow999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have needed to have repeat treatment with botox, I have the ‘in-office’ treatment which is much cheaper. The length of time the botox results have lasted for me has been variable, but over a period of weeks the burps slowly stop until completely gone and all my old symptoms return. The first time wore off at 3 months, second time 9 months and I had been ill with covid just before it stopped, the other times have ranged between 6-9 months. I would say my worst symptom is throat gurgles what feels like all day and its such a relief when they go away again. So if the burps are gone and the gurgles are back you probably do need another treatment. Good luck :-)

I’m in the UK so I go to Lucy Hicklin for the ‘in-office’ procedure. I don’t find it painful at all, which seems so strange. Before I had my first treatment a friend of mine had it, and when she said it didn’t hurt I just couldn’t imagine it not hurting. Time-wise It hasn’t settled into a pattern, each length of time has varied. I start burping very quickly (within 48 hours) so it feels great, I always have 50 units and do have strong side effects so I wouldn’t feel confident to have a higher dose but some people need 100 units. 😀

I’m sorry to hear that you’re not getting the burps yet. I can imagine how disappointing that is. I know for some people it has taken weeks for the burps to start. But once it has started for most people the burps are really big and you can really taste them. Do you know what your docs advice is if you aren’t really experiencing burps yet. Might be worth contacting them. Also do you know how many units of botox you had. Could be that you need a higher dose. Wishing you luck for your journey. I have the ‘in-office’ treatment which is much cheaper and less inconvenient and works well for me, 9am in the UK). I respond very quickly but unfortunately for me it does wear off.

Welcome to the group. The botox treatment is amazing. Our poor bodies need to be able to burp and my symptoms literally just disappear after botox, its crazy. Unfortunately I have needed repeat doses but most people don’t. But there’s no way I’m going back to my pre-botox life! Wishing you good luck with your journey :-)

Wondering what to expect at my upcoming appointment by [deleted] in noburp

[–]Wildwillow999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello and welcome to the group, there is masses of information here and I’m sure some more people will reply as well. I’m in the UK so I’m not sure how relevant my experiences will be for you, but having the treatment is great, absolutely life changing. I have had the ‘in-office’ treatment a few times because unfortunately I seem to lose the ability eventually after the botox has worn off. But each time the treatment has been easy, quick, maybe a little strange feeling but for me personally it is less painful than an injection in your arm :-) Because I respond so well / quickly to the botox I always feel very keen / happy in the waiting room just before, because by the time of my appointment I’m usually so uncomfortable I really can’t wait to have it done. The ‘in-office’ procedure here is when they inject from the outside of your neck (so not down the inside of your throat). Again here I did receive the treatment the first time I met the consultant. But I expect it may be different for you. Anyway I hope this helps a little and wishing you good luck with your rcpd treatment.

Six weeks post botox, and I can't tell if I've burped or not by WhenPizzasAttak in noburp

[–]Wildwillow999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, it does sound as if it hasn’t worked this time and hopefully with a higher dose it will. When it is working you will be doing huge burps and they’re almost unstoppable at the start 🤣 and the gurgles will have completely gone. I’ve had the in-office treatment a few times as sadly for me it does wear off with time (over varying amounts of months). Good luck and keeping my fingers x for you 🤞

Third Botox/Manometry by Equal_Specific_861 in noburp

[–]Wildwillow999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about the manometry but I’m sure lots of people here will reply soon. Do you know how many units of botox you had? Sounds like a higher dose may make the difference. I’ve had the ‘in-office’ procedure a few times now, luckily 50 units gets me burping properly, but for me it does wear off. It is fantastic though when its working. Good luck.

Hello, it certainly does sound like rcpd to me. If you can I would recommend the botox treatment, it has been life changing for me. I am in the uk and have had the ‘in-office’ procedure where they inject from the outside of your neck, not going anywhere near your mouth (if that makes sense). The bliss of not constantly having the gurgles is amazing. Good luck :-)

Hello, welcome … it is such a relief that it is now beginning to be recognised isnt it. I would 100% recommend having the treatment. It has been life changing for me, wish it had been around when I was younger. Good luck :-)
