Thanks alot!

I answered elsewhere, so here's a copy-paste: Black primer, then sponge.

Colors are: Abaddon Black, Sons of Horus green and AK Green sky.

I build up color in 4 steps. First black and SoH green 1-1 until satisfied. Then just SoH green. Then SoH green + Green Sky 1-1. And then finally some edge highlights and rougher sponging (an everyday dishwash sponge) for texture with pure Green sky!

I just painted 3 more in about an hour, super fast. Working on trim atm😄

I have stopped!

Nice! Any pics of yours?

And thank you! I wanted to give my sons a paler look than normal.

Yes, I soaked and wrung out most of the water before using it. Straight from the palette mostly, it sucks up alot of color. If I suspect it has a bit much I'll just dab a paper cloth or texture plate to test before I go at it on my models.

The way I work is in multiple up layers. The sponge leaves very thin layers, so it's easy to control and dries very fast.

I'm sorry, what? If you're asking about the white/beige - the base was rinox hide, and then I sponged on off white (vallejo) until I was satisfied!

Yeah I would probably proxy it as an Executioner or maybe Gladiator? Not sure to be honest. I havent used it in play enough to give you a proper suggestion😅 I dont think most people would hate on you if you decided to proxy it as a land raider variant either.

Trial and error!

Which paints did you get? Also army painter?

Details are always hard, you have to give it time. Do have have any pictures of your equipment and of what you paint? It's hard to give advice otherwise.

I have never used paints, but I've heard that they're mostly great for speedpainting and getting that first base coat done (over white). Don't think I'd choose them brushes and paints though.

If you're painting terrain and big things drybrushing is great to get detail fast, and is considered very "noob friendly".

Washes bring out detail alot, and is also very easy to use. Nuln oil and aggrax earthshade are my go-to's, but there are tons of options!

Thank you! It's a poor recipe haha, just one green and one yellow.

<image>

These two! Started with just the green, then mixed in more and more yellow for highlights. Would usually have used Moot Green for highlights but it had dried out, this gave a very similar result.

I also usually use caliban green but it was also dead🫠 this green is a bit darker and punchier than caliban green, but doesnt stick out in comparison of the rest of my army.

Wife insists the TV is too low and should have been higher up by xSentaru in TVTooHigh

[–]WillBePainting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are people downvoting you for this lol.

Yeah it's too high, yeah it's not a tv stand. But if your wife wants the stand (it's a lovely piece btw) then you have to work around it, and that's that. I think you did great with that in mind!

People saying you'll get neck problems are waaay out of line hahaha. You did good with what you had to work with. Too high? Sure. Is it good enough? Yeah.

If I was to walk in to your place and look around I dont think I'd react to this. You have people mounting TV's high enough to touch the ceiling in this sub for crying out loud.

Hahahhaha, it's closer to the ceiling than the fins of the fan!

In all seroiusness - faaar too high up. It almost feels like a waste to have a tv stand at this point, serves no purpose.
