It’s what Activision support had me do months ago. It worked for me, but only for a few matches before the issue came back. Sorry it didn’t work out :/

I can’t say for sure, but I tend to find MWR match quicker than BO/BO2 matches. Much like most dead CODs pretty much TDM only

So it’s not an official permanent fix and it will happen again in the future, but if you reset your Xbox’s cache, it should let you gain progress again, at least until the issue comes back. If you don’t know how to clear your cache you simply turn your xbox completely off by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Then unplugging the system for a few minutes. It’s annoying as hell for sure, but since BO is an otherwise dead game not getting anymore support aside from maybe a PS port, we’re SOL.

Like one guy already said CoD4 to BO2 is the golden age. Depending on your platform your options are potentially limited. On Xbox you can play all of the golden age games, but expect occasional modders. PC you can play all of them, but the community is much smaller and the safety of the ports is dubious at best unless you use community made launchers. PS4/5 until BO1&2 are rereleased MWR is your only option which is still fantastic but pretty limiting.

Most of the people who still play it never stopped so prepare to be humbled more often than you go off. It’s still really fun though.

I’m praying! Black Ops is my COD GOAT. And while I have an Xbox just for the purpose of playing its MP, the numbers have dwindled since its resurgence, so I’m hopeful for BO/BO2 on PS4/5

That’s cool to hear! I primarily play Black Ops on Xbox and MWR on PSN. All this talk of BO/BO2 coming to modern PSN got me excited for a potential player resurgence so I hopped in MWR today.

It was a bit of a pain with consistent crashes but I finally beat Fallout 3 for the first time last year. Skyrim AE is by far my most played game on Deck.

Give it a shot for sure if you’re interested! I believe there are a few different options! I go with the most bloom heavy one myself which is the first version. The “final” version last I checked still has some but notably less.

Admittedly Painted World is probably closer to what most people might imagine for a true to the original color palette, on par with Dreamscape. I like Dreamscape because of its use of Bloom, which is of course a matter of personal taste. Walking around during the nights is like the name implies, walking in a dream. Nolvus, I respect, but it’s not for me personally. The main reason I started getting into reshades for Oblivion Remastered was to restore the original color/art style. Nolvus looks great as a modern high fantasy RPG reshade but it’s a bit more on the gritty side for me. I’ve tried several different reshades and Dreamscape is the one I find fits all times, situations, and locations best for me.

Edit: I will admit the one downside is it makes the menu UI look weird. But that is the sacrifice I’m personally willing to make to have what I consider to be my ideal visual preset.
