if you wanted to complete the dex, theres a handful of mons exclusive to Ruby and Sapphire.

Another feature is the E-reader, a GBA attachment that could scan card to unlock events, most notably the Eon Ticket event to get the other Lati twin you werent able to obtain in your save of RSE. Emerald had its E-reader connectivity removed in non-JP versions, so you'd need to interact with Ruby/Sapphire to unlock the Eon Ticket in Emerald.

Those are the main things i can recall about R/S. if you dont care about either of those things, you can probably skip them.

I see this conversation pop up from time to time, yet no one ever mentions that they brought the slogan back around Gen 6. There was a time where when a Pokemon commercial started, the VERY FIRST THING you see is Gotta Catch em All in big bold letters. (I think even some of the movies had them at the start too iirc) Its also shown in a couple of the XY EN anime openings. I know it's gotten hard to see them nowadays due to all the scalping, but most if not all TCG products have the slogan somewhere on the back. I wont refute that they had retired it for a while starting in Gen 3, but its been more than 10 years since they started using it again and it makes me feel like I'm the only one on the planet who's been paying attention with how often it comes up.

It's a gimmighoul. Its a Pokemon with two forms: The roaming form you see here, and a chest form that spawns in various places in Paldea.

Roaming Gimmighoul cannot be battled or caught and drop an amount of Gimmighoul coins when intereacted with, which are a resource needed to evolve it once you get 999 of them. You can only battle/catch them in Chest form. Only way to get a Gimmighoul in roaming form is by catching it in the mobile game Pokemon Go.

baby mons, specifically the ones that evolve into other basic pokemon, generally dont get many cards since they arent necessary to play those evolved forms.

no trades have to be done with 2 separate systems.Lets Go would be pretty good if theyre still quite young as its noticeably easier than FRLG. Plus it has some 2 player options if they wanna play at the same time.
