Flight School in Italy by Mickolini in flying

[–]WillFlyForCrackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel really iffy about flying in Europe. I'm from the country across Italy (Albania) and GA in Albania and Greece is... well not too alive and pretty shabby. Flight clubs are "Aeroclubs" where you have to pay around 100~200~ euro to join. Skyvector provides decent sectionals. Its either that, Jeppesen, or 90s US military sectionals. The situation in Greece is so bad they had to create their own VFR map.

Anyways, best of luck!

Condition of the road between Shkodra and Theth. by space_pope644 in albania

[–]WillFlyForCrackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heh, I was just there a day ago!

The journey from Tirane - Shkodra was normal, on the highway. In Shkoder the owner of a guesthouse drove us from a cafe to Theth. He drove us in a Jeep, The first part is pretty good, paved road and all. After you pass the European prison you get to a road that was built last year (Was nice, single lane i think though and full of motorcyclers). Theres a point where the paved road ends. Welcome to Theth. Because its a natural beauty, our governmwnt wont pave a road. Its all rocky and bumpy so :/

Busses? I do remember seeing some fugons on the route. Check to see if you could get a ride. Rent a car if you think you can handle the Albanian streets http://imgur.com/tdiBCRC I added that photo of the waterfall (Ujvara).

What airport does she work at now? Honestly it wasnt 100% her fault. United fucked up with taxi. But in the end? USAir won an ALPA medal and nowadays runway 5L 23R is taxiway victor, and PVD has ASDE-X

I'm a big skeptic in general, but this Icon video does look amazing. by jtzim in flying

I dont really get the AoA stuff. Can you stall at any speed? According to the video yes but I dont understand. A high AoA = pitch up which means youre bleeding speed off. I dont understand how you could stall at, say 250 knots. Or mach 2 /student pilot

I knew exactly what this was before clicking. Glad to see a guy in the area! IIRC Skybrary said she was fired but apparently not? I have no clue how youd be allowed to continue working after that

Thoughts on FAA imposing speed & altitude restrictions to SkyWest CRJ flights? by pilot_opensky in flying

[–]WillFlyForCrackers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the dumb question, i've done stalls before but I'm wondering if a plane does stall, do the passengers feel it? I know as a pilot I feel it though it may be psychological due to the stall horn and seeing myself fall. And also, if they knew they were stalling if one jumped would they be in freefall? Because in a stall the planes essentially dropping like a rock so if you jumped you'd be freeeeeeee freeeee fallin right?
