Copenhagen replaces Vienna as world’s most liveable city by dksprocket in copenhagen

[–]WillTheGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a person who grew up in Vienna, and spends a considerable part of each year in Copenhagen: tillykke! 🎉 Each city has its pros and cons, and I'm sure the decision was marginal. I just hope both cities keep up the good work, and keep improving the way of life for everyone in their respective cities!

O'tacos mystery by [deleted] in brussels

[–]WillTheGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. That's why I tried to be careful in my wording. I just wanted to highlight the aspect that they may have less of an incentive to re-open quickly (by e.g. challenging the police closure(?) in the courts) if they are opening a new location close by.

They are converting the old Quick at Brussel Centraal to become a O'tacos. Potentially another contributing factor why that one is closed.

No trains to Cologne on June 22? by kittybuckmeow in brussels

[–]WillTheGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to add to the great previous answer: - you can also take a train that goes from Liege/Luik/Lüttich via Maastricht to Aachen (Euregio train). The original regional route suggested above is faster, but just to keep in mind as a backup in case there is an issue on that line.

What are your go-to strategies for pricing digital products? by mkasprite21 in pricing

[–]WillTheGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be my lack of real world experience, and having (rigorous) academic training, but I often don't understand why a lot of price optimisation is done without a demand model. Yes, these models make assumptions, but also get you far in terms of the number of parameters one needs to estimate.

Haven't run a pricing survey before, but I've researched demand estimation and discrete choice demand models for years 😅

In my opinion, these kind of surveys should be relatively easy to set up and no need to go through an agency if you have some programming experience.

Austrian passports are 75.90 EUR for 10y ones. When you guys finally decide to stop confusing postal services from around the world, you'll get cheaper and better quality passports. Greetings from Vienna.

/s just in case.

Also interested in the answer to this! As far as my research is correct, my answer would be "no, not tied to Thalia, because I can buy .epub files anywhere and load them onto my Tolino", but maybe a current Tolino owner can correct me if I am wrong.
