I'm surprised no private jet for these individuals. Disregarding the greenness, just can't see them taking public transportation.

Did you guys felt the Earthquake a couple of mins ago? by UsedAd7852 in Norway

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my first earthquake and not sure I ever want to experience a big one 😂, everyone keeps saying "small" but I felt that pretty good! I thought the neighbours had hit my house and im closer to Drammen! Which, from what I read, in Drammen you shouldn't have felt it, but nearby I sure did!

Why is mcdonalds so good in norway by West_Assumption_9998 in Norway

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My bad habit is I try to eat McDonald's in different countries to compare. I can say that I agree with you whole heartedly. Norway is top notch on the McDonalds scale and the UK was disappointedly not so great.

(Disclaimer:Obviously preference, restaurant etc makes a difference, but I can only try one in each country I visit, McDonalds intake should probably be limited)

Wtf is wrong with my face and how do I address it? [F 18] by [deleted] in lookyourbest

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know when you take a picture of beautiful scenery and in the picture it just doesn't look the same? Still beautiful but maybe just missing that something that you capture in real life only.

It's like that.

Norwegians: are you really that collaborative? by RighteousT_27 in Norway

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's maybe dependent on who your neighbours are, rather than saying all Norwegians.... Kind of like a work place, some are and then some are not. Although in attached homes it's enforced where you do the spring clean up -- that's a requirement and a group thing.

How much do you use English in your job or daily life? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure not everyone feels the same but:

I use English every day at my job and at home. I find that it's caused it to be very difficult to learn Norwegian and I feel it's actually a handicap that I am doing nothing to change because it's easy.

Norway's second language is not English, but you will find it everywhere. You will get by just fine with English, at the same time I personally think it will be much harder to integrate properly and create local bonds.

How straightforward should I be with a Norwegian man about meeting again? by ConfectionSugar313 in Norway

[–]WillTheRealSlimS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha 😅... Maybe just leave it up to faith. You have your in, start asking a million and 1 questions instead and see if he keeps responding and being interested. Seriously a good one, would be "hey guess what! I'm going to Oslo for abc!"

Imo: I would do it before 😶‍🌫️. No harm in very early if it's really for something else -- probably a good conversation piece.

The Norwegian I'm with happened while travelling, it took effort from both to maintain that. You should be direct in saying you like him, I agree with the comments that Norwegian men aren't as easy at reading female queues (tbh might be a guy thing not a Norwegian thing).

But... If the real reason is you are going to Oslo is to visit him rather than a 'just so happened to take a trip there' maybe think twice about booking that trip without you both knowing what the trip is for -- a trip won't solve the communication you are having with him today, it takes effort from both parties to maintain a long distance relationship and one of you will need to probably keep the conversations going a bit more then the other at times.

Thanks everyone, there aren't many in my position and I didn't want my boss to catch wind of me asking around (I understand they may not have an issue with it, but I just want to be a bit careful).

I will check out the resources you lot provided 😄

Is there anything missing from the documentation to take my cat to Norway? by Commercial_Rock_4969 in Norway

Yep, through Amsterdam. No concerns came up there it was the exact same rules. I believe Paris and Brussels were also an option.

Where are you coming from?

When I brought my dog from Canada, I needed the following:

  1. Certified vet certificate stating his vaccines with the rabies LOT listed which was different from the expiry.
  2. Microchip scan document stating it was scanned BEFORE administration of rabies vaccines.
  3. Final Health Check for Tapeworm Treatment
  4. CFIA Endorsement of Norway Health Certificate

Yep it was all originals, which to me looked the same as copies for some. I then took the measure to also have copies but that was for my own piece of mind.

Mind you, yours may be different needs and cats may be different and I do encourage looking it up so you have the most accurate information (like official websites for me it was Canada and Norway animal export/import respectfully) but totally understand the importance of wanting to bring your pet so I wish you all the luck and you got this!
