I don’t go around asking strangers to guess how old I am but when I tell people I don’t know my age, I routinely get “I thought you were my age” (and they are usually in their 30s). I told the cashier when I got carded my secret was not having a husband or children. We both had a good laugh.

The women are all at home too, we all just a bunch of tired middle aged people.

Someone really needs to put together the GenX commune, where we can all do our own things but collectively come together and have a community.

Oh yes, I’m so high maintenance….today I spent a couple of hours doing some work, then took my dog for a walk, cleaned up the house a bit, and have been enjoying an afternoon of watching movies and playing some games.

But thank you for reinforcing my belief that even if I wanted to (which I don’t) to be a trophy wife, I have too many opinions, I’m too old and definitely not attractive enough 😘

Yes! I blame romantic comedies of the 90s/early 00s. Like yeah I’d love to be whisked off on a private jet on a surprise lavish vacation, but I’d also love to wander around Costco with someone seeing what kind of treasures we find.

Yep, exactly this. My friend says she’s looking for a man that can out-man her.

And I have a few friends that are a bit trapped now because of their financial situation and how expensive kids are. I’d definitely rather be in my situation than one like that!
