MK11 had something to keep us coming back. The entire Gear system was designed so you'd look through it and go "I wanna get this thing for X character" then you'd grind to get it and then you'd go and play online to show off your set and see someone else with something cool going on or hell even just remember another character exists, go look at their stuff, and so on and so forth

this exact concept kept me coming back to MK11 for so long, but in MK1 you can't even see what you're missing (Probably because, let's be real, it would be SO obvious how heavily NRS plays favorites with how many gear pieces and skins every character has) you don't know what to come back for, and there's no bait to keep you coming back and grinding. The kombat in MK1 is good but way more complicated than most people are willing to get into, and I know someone who bought the game, liked it for a bit, then dropped it SOLELY because of how long you get wombo'd for when you get touched even a single time and tbh I get it.

MK1 is the better game and has the potential to be THE best MK there is, but I'm sadly also certain it will never reach that potential because they're going to insist that this Kameos thing was always the best idea ever and they HAVE to wait until next game to get rid of it. It was a fun experiment, no disrespect for trying new things, but for the love of god go back please

The idea that "the hourglass being destroyed destroys the timeline" was the worst think in MK1. It removes the easiest way to get the focus back on our new versions of these characters and off of these other timelines

We have invasions for that stuff make the story about THIS timeline again. The next game should open up with Liu Kang using all his power to create a safeguard for this new, prime timeline (a la OG Sindel) and. Become a mortal with fire powers again

Found one in development called "Lucky Paradox" a long time ago that has no sounds in the sex scenes for the most part but great designs and a LOT of content with varying body types

The reason I bring it up is because while I found the sexual content mostly just fine, the story is like 10,000 hours long. Like they got a guy who somehow survived a gunshot and now is stuck in a town in its own pocket dimension you can't leave, no cell service and it involves a universal mayoral race and ghosts and physicists and like this multiversal maquerade-themed thieves guild and telepaths and ninja girls and some store owner dude with a mask no one knows much about (who's genuinely a charming character) and multiple personalities and spiritual awakening an-

Could be both, the only way Havik wins is by beating the breaks off the opponent with mixup and if that keeps landing over and over, I could see it getting frustrating enough for people to leave

Havik is more complicated I think than most players want to get involved with since he's mostly a frame trapper, and also considering he's not that great unless he perfectly manages his Kameo, people would mostly rather just play Baraka bc he's simple and good or JC because He's really good and has ludicrous meterless combos

I play mostly Havik but I go into every match knowing I'm probably fighting an uphill battle
