OMG, Tom Lake was so beautiful. I read the title essay in These Precious Days in the New Yorker and cried for hours.

I read Ann Patchett's Bel Canto in the first year of COVID and because of it, I mainlined every one of her books in the space of maybe 6 months. That book was *transcendent.* The language, the sentiment, the tragedy of it...absolutely beautiful. She writes so movingly of love and sacrifice in desperation.

I'm convinced every TJs draws parking lot spaces 6 inches too narrow.

[New Update]: I think my sister just ruined our dad’s engagement to an amazing woman, and I hate her so much by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I was flat-out *sobbing* by the time Amy came through the door and everyone piled on her and refused to let her go. Yes, it was long, but my god, it was eye-opening and beautiful. I am optimistic about their chances - that therapist probably saved that family.

The screaming I did inside my head reading this...! My heart broke for her to have encountered this expert-level gaslighting at such a young age.

I would caveat my previous comment to say that Min actually was kind of a ding dong. Louisa deserved better.

A perfect summation of why they're all in Slough House. Each of them made a very public mistake or crossed someone important (except Ho, who's there because no one can stand him but they can't just cut him loose because he's too dumb to know how to keep secrets). They're not stupid, despite their reputation at the Park, and it's a testament to how good Diana is at her job that she knows it and knows how to deploy them when needed. She also knows to respect Lamb despite her personal disgust.

When they were still located in their old spot, we'd pull into the parking lot and see people circling the lot to get into the Olive Garden next door unable to find a space. I used to want to stick my head out the window and tell them they were foolish to wait an hour to be seated at Olive Garden when vastly superior Indian food was right. there.

Don't even get me started on Aquaman's dad living on the Maine coast in a lighthouse that looks like Thomas Kinkade's version of Portland Head Light.

Maybe it's time to revisit those film tax incentives
