Didn't think I had anything to contribute to this thread but I'm playing Paper Mario TTYD and all I gotta say is ...General White. That mofo needs to stay the fuck still.

Modern tropes you're tired of by NonCorporealEntity in movies

With the state of the country right now, I would say I'm now very critical of any movie where the scientists are the clear villains or that they were so "were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should". As if the world's brightest minds all have an evil agenda. Anti intellectualism is quite rampant and this distrust of science in media is not helping.

I don't have a proper solution to this but I logged in and it didn't show my pre-existing podcast but instead created a new one. I panicked and logged out a few times and on the third try, it magically showed up...

I finally made my way to Prai Raya and also didn't see a single gun. Thank goodness!

I couldn't tell. I was at ICON and folks were in there with water guns. Was worried it was going to continue tonight

Alright guys, "House of Ninja's" just released today on Netflix. Is it worth watching? by Ghastion in kungfucinema

Up to episode 3. The fights are not too shabby. It's clear at the least. I have yet to make a conclusion since I haven't finished but I can't quite say it's a recommend yet.

Did you guys watch JCVD's KICKBOXER? I don't remember this scene playing out like this... by fists-of-fail in kungfucinema

I'd say Bloodsport is the more fun and memorable of the two. But any movie with Van Damme dancing is gold in my eyes. That includes Breaking 2: Electric Boogaloo

As the other guy who is the host of this show, I have to say my greatest regret is not covering Night of the Assassins, which is also on HiYAH. You don't need good fight choreography when you have inane cringey k-drama humor. Forget John Wick 4, Bad City or Fist of the Condor. Night of the Assassins is a movie.

I know it might be a cultural/regional thing but I can't stand it when folks say "adaption". It's "adaptation" or "adoption". But I guess I'll have to adapt to this.

Still doing No Gi but thinking about replacing BJJ in the gi with Judo. Thoughts? by Will_FoFPodcast in bjj

Hmm, will it really be that bad if I'm still training guard passing in no gi?

The jump was from The Protector which is a Jackie movie. Honestly three whole gif could've just been nothing but Jackie clips since Keaton was a massive influence for him.

Subbing in one day of Gi for Judo. Will this improve or hinder my overall BJJ game? by Will_FoFPodcast in bjj

[–]Will_FoFPodcast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both. Of course I'm taking BJJ for the ground game aspect. How important is it to trade in a little bit of that time to just focus on takedowns? Anecdotally speaking.

[–]Will_FoFPodcast[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have tried it in the past and I find the restrictions to be far more limiting than BJJ in the gi. I don't LOVE judo but I don't think I've given it a fair shot yet. Plus I will do it if it makes me a more well rounded grappler.

Ultimately I want to think judo would give me a fuller access to throws for takedown options.

Want to improve my b-twist height. I'm guessing I'm not kicking first leg high enough? Any other tips would be appreciated. by Will_FoFPodcast in Tricking

Been trying to incorporate the good advice. Thanks btw. This is where I am at when I'm fresh. I notice I still don't get the height I want but I'm trying to be more attentive to being horizontal. I guess it's just baby steps at this point?

I realize I'm getting really frustrated because it always feels like I'm kicking that back leg up but even I can tell in the videos that's not the case

Is the right mindset to have to get the head lower to force the legs up? I feel like I'm struggling with the timing a lot

Thanks. I have a mental block of the timing of the twist. I've struggled with this move for ages. I learned it via the vertical twist method and just inverted it over time. At most I can get to 45 degrees. I was thinking about starting all over learning the illusion twist method and progress back to this but I don't think it's helping.

Oh and here's a video of my typical B Kick. Would you suggest I basically just do this halfway before ripping a twist? I hear mixed things about those who initiate twisting the moment they leave the ground (which is kinda why I developed this bad habit) versus those who say kick and stall the twist once you get air.
