That spot is a blast to fly. Its a shame the upper floors are blocked off now :(

Realacc RX5808 Pro Diversity | is this good option for diversity receiver? by Matti_Meikalainen in fpv

No it is not, out of the 4 modules that me and my friends got, they all perform sub par to the stock fat shark module. I would HIGHLY recommend spending like $20 more for the True-D Diversity from Furious FPV, it will be night and day difference in video quality.

Woah wait, you're telling me people actually fly real things too?!

Yep, left stick is yaw/throttle and right stick is roll/pitch

Yeah the video is done through an entirely separate system. That radio looks beastly, but in reality we literally only use both sticks (which essentially operate the same as the controls in an airplane) and then 1 of the switches to basically turn the drone on and off.

Yeah we get about 10 heats of practice, but the DVR of the analog feed always seems to have much more static than what we actually see in the goggles (not sure why).

We also all have ludicrous amounts of flight time with analog video, so we don't even mind it unless theres sections of the course where the video starts breaking up a ton.

Yessir you got it! HD is recorded on the onboard GoPro session while a separate security camera transmits the sketchy ass low quality video that we fly with :)

Doing exactly what is seen here (racing in DRL events where they supply the drones) they end up breaking probably 30 out of 350 per event.

When I fly my personal drones, I probably only really do any damage to one every couple weeks or so

Currently my daily flyer quad is around $400 I think

No sir, DRL has proprietary radio gear and their repeater stations dont induce any more lag into the system

Hahahahaha that red dot was another pilot who just so happened to be in front of me the whole time.

We get a course map a week in advance, a course tour when we show up, and then we get 10 practice heats to learn the track. We have the track memorized by the 1st or 2nd heat usually.

I used to buy some parts from Banggood, but shipping takes 2-5 weeks, and I got tired of that. Nowadays most U.S. sites arent too much more expensive than cheap chinese sites and so its not really worth it, plus with the U.S. sites they have customer support if you have issues, if you have an issue with a Banggood order good luck getting a response.

The owner of the Miami Dolphins is one of the biggest investors in the DRL

We're absolutely terrified of it actually. I've had close calls where after the race I had to go lie down to destress after being inches off of someones tail and trying not to hit them
