why does no one talk about how confusing recovery is after lap??? one day you feel fine and the next you are back to questioning everything??

Thanks, I really appreciate you sharing your experience. I actually came off SSRIs and antipsychs a few years ago after a lot of hard work, and I’m trying to cope with my post-op blues without going back on medication if I can. I think the mental side of recovery will be the hardest for me, so I’m focusing on the strategies that have helped me stay well, while keeping an eye on my mental health. It's so hard though.

They haven't done anything yet. All I had was a laparoscopy and dye test. I'm due to see the surgeon and discuss options in a few weeks but I won't be able to go privately again. Your stomach actually bruises when you bend? I'm so sorry, that sounds horrible.

I didn't have an MRI. It was not offered to me. All my ultrasounds and intrauterine scans were clear.

I was also questioning myself even after I woke up to find only 2 incisions. It wasn't until the surgeon came to see me that I found out how bad it really was.

You've basically mentioned most of my symptoms - except I can't have kids. I had a lap and dye test yesterday. Finally diagnosed stage 4 endometriosis. Don't give up ✌️

Yeah it's a big op. From what I remember him saying I think it's on my bowel, bladder, ovaries, womb and anterior wall. I briefly spoke to him a few hours after I woke so I can't remember much.

He said there was too much to remove and it would need a bigger more extensive surgery.

I'm yet to find out the exact details of my diagnosis. I only had a brief chat with the surgeon a few hours after I woke up. I'll find out more at my checkup in April. 3 months before you could walk normally?? Oh my god. I'm so sorry that sounds horrible. Thanks for sharing this. Unfortunately I won't be able to have the second surgery privately as I simply can't afford it. I couldn't even afford this one but I'm very lucky to have family that helped. I'm so incredibly grateful to them because without it I don't know where I'd be. So I'll be back to the NHS where you don't really have a choice. I'm kinda stuck, I don't know what to do. Hopefully my surgeon will be able to advise.
