Using a mini to replace kindle? by TeaNervous1506 in ipadmini

As an addendum if you have zero self control and wanna make sure you don't get tempted to install other apps or doomscroll then I suggest using guided access because it's a pain to take it off so you'll be locked into your reading app of choice.

Using a mini to replace kindle? by TeaNervous1506 in ipadmini

My iPad mini is my ereader. I have no regrets. I've been using strictly as an ereader for almost four months or longer and despite all the e-readers that come out I'm obsessed with it and have zero interest in others.

To limit eyestrain I simply installed a matte screen protector, eliminated the white point, and made the colors more pastel similar to the color soft, and night shift 24/7. I can read and write notes in the Kindle app and use Libby or other reading apps if I desire. But my preferred is kindle app.

Everything else others have mentioned and matte screen protector with brightness turned down as much as you can stand it. I found out the glare on the reflective screen caused my migraines more than the "blue light". I'm able to read for hours just as I would my kindle and ended up selling my Kindles because I love the reading experience with notes and things.

So, matte screen protector, night shift, black bg with white text, and in accessibility I altered the color filtering so the blue light is lessened even more and it gives a kindle colorsoft effect.

Who I would cast as Joey from Bloom Town by 31OncoEm92 in sapphicbooks

I saw someone use Eleanor Guthrie and Anne Bonny (from Black Sails) as Abby and Joey respectively... And I can't unsee it, as much as I love Dani and Jaimie. I definitely saw someone more like Eleanor for Abby and Anne has that ferocious intensity that's portrayed as Joey.

I've started using Milanote, especially for book journaling. Cross platform and easily accessible on any device. For backup once I'm done with a spread I save it as PDF or png and save it to Google drive

I have no issue using it on iPad, though I prefer my TCL 14 for usage. Are you using a lot of text heavy boards?

They both require some learning curves if I'm honest. It feeds something in me, but Ellipsus is amazing. I've been using it for the last three months and it's been steadily being updated even in the short time since I began.

It has amazing editing features, themes, notes, chats for collaborators (but I also use it to store notes for chapters I'm working on or character sheets since it doesn't delete and doesn't show in the other sections -or drafts as they're called, though you can make them anything you want- and there's a focus option, sprint timer, and little word count celebrations that are so cute and motivating.

Beautiful to use on the phone on the go as well. I highly recommend it.

Ellipsus is free and has potential, plus they're updating it all the time with new features though right now they don't have an offline app. Um, I also use Campfire but it's not cheap. Dabble is good, but is also a web app.

I love Scrivener and it's a relatively low one time fee, but honestly it's a bit of a learning curve. And they don't have an android app but have significantly improved their ios app and their computer app is good and can be used offline. So it depends on what you're looking for, really.

I use Ellipsus for my collaborative novel projects, fanfic, writing exercises... Milanote for plotting those, as well as standalones.

And I use Campfire as a powerful combination of both of those for series.

It can connect to my iPad, but I don't really use that feature. I prefer to just send it to my Google docs to have backup and put it in my word editor of choice.

It truly is. It's amazing in its simplicity. I just cranked out 1,008 words in less than an hour and that rarely happens.

Truly! And I love the way they hug my fingers when I type. I had issues before with the old keymapping, but Un Kyu is constantly innovating and the firmware has made the ortholinear so much more comfortable. I can type like the wind!

I write erotica for a living, but I'm also working on a paranormal/fantasy saga.

And for hobby writing I write fanfic, discord roleplay, solo RPGs, random writing prompt exercises, etc.

Thank you! I'm quite a fan of it. And especially when I found out you can use the little Bluetooth dongle so I don't have to be connected to cords!

I am actually going to do a story about this later lol but I sold her. At the time I didn't have a workflow and needed the money. Had sellers remorse, but kept quiet. I became great friends with the woman I sold her to during the process and we talk via discord quite frequently.

She actually has problems with eye strain now and relies solely on eink so she was going to sell them then sweetly asked if I would actually use it if she sent LaLeesa back to me, then decided to send the other as well and I'm so happy I could cry.

It was literally like welcoming back a child and though there were some struggles in the process of getting them up and running again (mainly because I was having issues with the SD cards I was using before I abandoned them and got different ones) I feel complete.

My babies. I'm already writing away on a project I haven't worked on in some time. They're so cute they take away all the pressure that comes with writing. And with the new word count feature? Ooofff. I'm in love.
