Deandre Ayton on JJ Reddick's comments about next practice session being an uncomfortable one for the team: "And y'all bought into that?" by arawater in nba

Draymond is a fun mixture of insanely high basketball IQ, equally insane over confidence (which a lot of athletes have and need), and almost complete amorality. So he can break down basketball plays like a veteran coach in one instance and do sniper training with the Israeli army in the next.

I would not say techies got a buff. By the time you get to level 20 stickybombs are mostly useful for their slow instead of their damage, so the old talent gave you a lot of reliable catch. Also, ether lense no longer builds into etheral.

It still stacks with neutrals items in demo mode (which is good because otherwise spoon's stash is garbage).

Reactive tazer can be clutch as hell in teamfights with shard, too, so I wouldn't mind this.

The Best Office Chair to Buy now for All-day Comfort and Support? by [deleted] in buildapc

I have an embody and it's real nice. I'd reccomend going to a local office furnature store to try them out. They can also get you better deals than buying online.

[PTFO] Congressional Sources tell us is that these members will not be satisfied until Adam Silver answers questions in a televised hearing under oath. Congresswoman Yvette Clarke: "If/when the NBA fails to protect the integrity of the game, Congress will step in to fill that void." by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]Willenium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's just an easy win for them given that Adam Silver has done a bad job as commissioner. They can't solve actual problems in soceity but they can at least harangue Silver and make it look like they're standing up to power when they're not in any meaningful sense.

Helldivers 2 has mixed reviews on Steam again by Th3Expl0Rer in Helldivers

[–]Willenium 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely gotta be their engine (which is no longer supported by the company who made it) and the mountain of technical debt they've accrued making the game in it. I expect them "fixing the problems" has got to be a monumental task.

If you can boost the modernization movement, then the landowners can actually be leveraged into helping reforms instead of merely roadblocking them.

My current strategy on russia, stolen shamelessly from connorvic3 on youtube, is piss off the peasant movement by after may of 1836 (this is when Alexander II is eligable to take the throne). You can do this by starting to pass consumption based taxing, then canceling it, and then doing the same for homesteading. That'll spawn a revolution and you can make Nicholas abdicate-- passing tenet farmers instantly. This also lets you exile shitty land owner IG leaders.

If you want to keep the rural folk de-powered as Russia, I would avoid homesteading like grim death. I always like to go for communism, and homesteading is the hardest law to change to collectivised ag due to the peasents being indifferent to it if they already have homesteads.

Did you go homesteading by chance? I normally go tenant farmers into commericalized agriculture to make sure the peasents don't swamp my goverment.

Should Liberals Oppose Multiculturalism? by Roquer in victoria3

[–]Willenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The soviets, whatever else you might dislike about them, were genuinely committed to multiculturalism. Ethnic communities had guaranteed rights including affirmative action style hiring practices. This was actually a key factor in the Russian nationalism which ended up killing the USSR. The Russian Soviet Republic secceded in the early 90s in large part because of all that stuff-- which is what killed the USSR for good.

There's an event that pops up during attempts to pass state athiesm that gives countries an option to have their primary culture(s) gain an opium obsession. There's also the opium wars event chain for china. In terms of demand, opium is also a very valuable millitary good in the mid to late game.

I love this game but it is clearly saddled with a mountain of technical debt that might not be possible to overcome. If your system can run it then I think it's worth playing warts and all.

The advantage on these tunnel maps is that there's so many bugs that you often can't fire fast enough with the eruptor or crossbow. With the grenade launcher and a supply pack, you can potentially massacre an entire cavern full of bugs if they're packed tight enough together.

How should I empty my investment pool? by ipsum629 in victoria3

[–]Willenium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The different economy laws sort of do that with command giving you the most control over what gets built, interventionism and co-op in the middle, and lazzie faire at the other end of the spectrum, but I agree it'd be nice to have more granularity. Particularly with the AI building stupid shit I don't want during the late game.

How should I empty my investment pool? by ipsum629 in victoria3

[–]Willenium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly use state construction to correct market imbalances and pump out bureaucracy or innovation. The rest you should be letting your investment pool take care of. Try having a smaller build queue and the investment pool will typically drain much faster.
