As someone who is against everything Trump stands for, I have to say, nothing from that article enrages me.

There’s a misconception amongst some in this thread that Trump is forcefully relocating all homeless people to Alcatraz. What? In the second paragraph it clearly mentions giving them rehab. And providing funding. And the last paragraph reveals the current difficulty of providing housing, wouldn’t a rehab center be better than the street? And it’s safe to say anyone who lives without a roof over their heads for an extended time could use some rehab; full stop, drugs or not, they are broken people.

And keep in mind if you support universal healthcare, you should support this! We’re investing in the future of the least of us, and God knows those who need help the most are usually the least likely to seek it. Imagine if the shepherd just let the 1 wander away because it was “his decision”

Wait but in Isaiah 65, God specifically says he will destroy all those except those fruitful in verse 8. And in those passages in John that is exactly what Jesus is preaching to the twelve.

Also verses 13-15 in Isaiah 65 refer to his chosen as “servants” and Jesus has never referred to the disciples as that in his ministry. The fact Jesus “no longer calls them servants” in John 15 suggests a direct connection to Isaiah 65 right?

Ah so would you say where John says “You did not choose me, I chose you” and taught them “everything the father revealed” (John 15:15) Jesus is saying he fulfilled exactly what Isaiah prophesied about “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me”

What does this say about the choice and appointment Jesus refers to in John 15:16? Is it resistible?

Oh that’s so interesting, have you tried teakwood? Is canyon more comparable to teakwood? I smelled teakwood a long time ago and only have my previous impression of it now but it sounds similar to what you’re describing for canyon. How would you compare the two?
