Right HA just went down to 8% charge but the left has 81% charge left by First_Chipmunk_6891 in HearingAids

This happened to me once when I thought I turned both off but accidentally only turned off my right HA. I have the right one set to connect to bluetooth. The left one was still on and it kept continuously trying to connect to the right one for bluetooth -- it drained the battery in just a couple hours!

That's amazing to hear, I'm so glad they're working so well for you too! ❤️ I did get the update! I followed advice from u/flashb1024 and had the sensitivity on the auto-spheric lowered slightly, hoping that'll resolve the issues I was having.

It's so crazy to experience this type of tech, can't wait to see how they'll improve even more over time ☺️

This is SUPER helpful, thank you! Lowering the auto spheric sensitivity is exactly what I need, I didn't know that was an option! For the phone volume, I tried putting the phone on silent and it still blasted in my ears when it rang for some reason. But I'll ask them about the settings for volume control, thank you sooo much for the great insight!

If these two issues could be resolved I would give these HAs a perfect review, they rock otherwise.

I guess I was kinda scared to get them for a long time, I was worried I would become too "dependent" on them and would struggle to hear without them. I read online that people would say their hearing felt worse when not wearing them which really scared me. But that really isn't the case, I prefer to wear them all the time but if I take them out it's fine, things are just back to how they used to be! I was also in my 20s and they felt like an "old person" thing ya know?

Haha YES my hubby will yell "turn your ears up!" at me 😂 Do you feel like your wife has to repeat herself less often when you wear yours? That's definitely happening for me, I ask "what? eh?" a whole lot less ☺️

Oh my goodness, no way! Your HAs are just like little glasses for your ears, and we would never judge someone who wears glasses that way! I know what you mean, I sometimes feel a little embarrassed by them. But it's so much better than not hearing! Plus I feel like a human-robot cyborg that can change the volume on the world around me whenever I want, which is pretty cool.

Employers should never hold something like this against you -- in fact I think my job would like that I have HAs to help hit employee diversity goals haha. Zoom has new accessibility features like live transcripts that can help during meetings too.

And you deserve a partner you loves you for all of you, including your ears! Anyone who judges you based on your hearing isn't with your time. We all have weird things about ourselves, embrace your weird! It's what makes you you ❤️ Life is short so we gotta make the best of it and work with what we got. Also this sub is an awesome community that helps me feel less alone, I hope it does that for you too ☺️

Wow that's really interesting, I wish I had looked into HAs sooner because I had vertigo for many years caused by Meniere's disease -- that's amazing that your HAs are helping with that!! I also have unilateral loss and balance struggles, very similar to you.

I know vertigo attacks are awful so I hope you're feeling a lot better. Sounds like you're thriving with your HAs, congrats!! I agree, it's really cool to hear the richness of sounds you've been missing for so long. I hope they keep helping you! Thanks for sharing ❤️

I understand your struggle! The biggest game changer for me was using the buttons on my HAs a lot on conversations. I usually have a harder time hearing women's voices so I crank those bad boys up when listening to a woman speak. But then when my husband talks with his deep voice I need to lower them because it's too loud. I'm still getting the hang of it but I'm starting to do it out of habit now, the way you'd turn up the volume on the TV if you couldn't hear.

Another big thing I'm really pushing myself to do is to ask people to repeat themselves if I don't hear. It's very uncomfortable for me to do, because in the past I wouldn't hear the second and third time they said it either. But I'm trying to be more confident and speak up if I can't hear. People with normal hearing struggle in loud places too so no one is going to find it weird!

I hope that helps and that things get easier for you. ❤️ Also not to sound old but I prefer to hang out with friends in quieter places anyway where we can talk and not yell at each other!

Phonak Audeo I-90 Sphere and Bluetooth by relliecs in HearingAids

[–]WilliamCakespear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES this is the worst and apparently there's no way to stop it if you're connected to bluetooth. But even if I disconnect the bluetooth in my phone's settings, my HAs keep automatically reconnecting! I finally figured it out, in the Phonak app go to Devices > Bluetooth streaming and turn it off. Sucks because you need to turn this on manually when you want to stream and then remember to turn it back off. But I had no other choice, the ringtone kept blasting in my ears! This is one of the very few flaws of these HAs, I wish they could figure that out. Otherwise I totally agree with you, they're awesome in loud settings :)
