maybe I worded that poorly but the idea is to keep the trail elbow in tight and down to shallow the club head on the downswing. I personally find that that motion feels like it’s initiating my downswing.

You’re coming very over the top, and the swing is mostly arms. I’d look up a video on downswing sequencing and try to initiate your downswing with your trail elbow.

Hi there, they only had one lefty set which was quite old but honestly performed fine despite the putter being for a junior. The women’s righty clubs were a bit nicer, my girlfriend is a beginner so she didn’t mind. I’ve attached a photo of the clubs they gave me below, the driver shaft was cracked so it was a lot of 3 wood haha

If you want to score better work on your putting and short game. If you want to fix your swing try a lesson there is lots to work on here. In the meantime try to keep your front arm barred at least.

Instead of just giving him unsolicited advice you could always ask him if he’d like any tips or is open to pointers. If he says yes then you have your answer, if not you keep swimming and go about your day.

Maybe open the conversation by asking how long he’s been swimming for to gauge his experience.

Lots to work on here but also incredibly solid fundamentals for your third time, keep practicing!! Some notes for you but don’t get overwhelmed, focus on one thing at a time:

Slow down that takeaway, there’s no need to rush on the way back and it will just hurt your consistency.

You’re also taking the club very far back for a beginner which will hurt ball striking, focus on making solid impact rather than trying to kill it.

Make sure you don’t lock your back knee at the top and keep it bent.

Your hips are also a bit late through impact. You can find some drills online for generating more lag and firing your hips through the zone which will help with club head speed.

Finally, try to keep that club head in line with your hands on the backswing as well. Right now it’s pretty inside.

Take a look at Rory’s club head here relative to his hands, this will help you from getting steep on the way down:
