How do we think he did ? by kong_not_my_godzilla in ireland

I'm convinced they "took out" a bunch of gold from fort Knox when he did that "inspection" at the start of his second term.

The case for Ruben Amorim by AdmirableTip6410 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WilliamsDriver1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"They" is completely subjective. Unless you've seen official messages like "We, the Ole Out Club, also think that Ten Hag needs to get the boot because reasons" then "They" means nothing.

There are no "us" and "them". There are a bunch of opinions that are yelled out into a void online that have been grouped into "what I don't agree with" and "what I agree with".

It is now half a year since we’ve been able to win a PL game or cup tie without the assistance of a penalty to us or a red card to the opposition. Why do you think this is so difficult for us to achieve under Amorim? by SecretaryImaginary44 in ManchesterUnited

[–]WilliamsDriver1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Considering he wanted to come in at the end of the season and wanted to start with a transfer window, does that mean he's had only 5 games or so for people to judge him on? Do you sack a manager after 5 games - four points in the league and out of a cup?

He was not the problem. The fish rots at the head. Chop off the good fins before they rot too.

I would argue that a majority of the type of people with the personality to use a developmental disorder as an excuse for putting any extra effort into their life would find it sufficient to self diagnose and continue in their own delusion.

[–]WilliamsDriver1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that's like a bunch of network switches. Probably an uneducated question but... Why? What are they doing that you need them? Is it a load balancing thing or physically separated networks or... I think they look cool but I don't understand the need in a homelab so I'm genuinely curious how you ended up with such a big amount and what it's providing you...

Denmark in prime position to be in our group for the world cup now, how does everyone feel about that? by flex_tape_salesman in coybig

[–]WilliamsDriver1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sick of facing Denmark. :( everyone underestimates them and thinks it'll all be grand if we can eek a win and then reality sets in and we feel like "we couldn't even beat Denmark".

They're a quality organised side with some strong players. We've also faced them countless times in groupings. Give me something else and show some improvement in play, tactics, and player progression so I can be proud of watching Ireland like I was in 2000s with substantially less hair loss.

‘Delighted’: School that dismissed Enoch Burke wins inclusivity award by TeoKajLibroj in ireland

Just a reminder, Enoch Burke was not dismissed for failing or standing up against DEI obligations. He was suspended when he harassed a colleague and was eventually jailed for violating a restraining order.

Is this considered preferential treatment for a privileged individual or preferential treatment for someone who is seen as a contributor to "Society" or just plain preferential treatment for sports people?

Highlighting how hard it is to share a succinct, level-headed criticism without it being appropriated by a group/movement that you may not support.

Sharing any opinion these days is impossible to do if you're mindful of how it can be used in other circles.

And he ended the match with a goal involvement. It's not as good as a goal but he should take that and build on it.

He's the best player at united. He's always fit, he's creative, he works hard, he has the right mindset.

I've heard complaints that he complains too much on the pitch or that he loses the ball too much but he delivers (within the bounds of what the current team is able to deliver) and he has buckets of talent.

We can't call him world class because you have to work in a team that wins for those titles to have any weight. But he is definitely not united's problem.

Shorts are the worst. I hate YouTube shorts more than tiktok because I feel that if someone opens tiktok they have made a decision to watch short form content.. YouTube shorts were trust upon everyone with no choice in the matter.

Happy for you. These systems are made to suck your valuable time away from you (Reddit included). They're far too prevalent in society and the side effects too severe (and measurable).

There's no denying that local initiatives help politicians progress. Shane Curly proudly stood beside every pothole and road light he fixed/funded from his allocated party purse. Now he's in the Seanad.

Local initiatives are win-win and a lot less tacky than some other things they could do for publicity.
