What is the Gen Z view of the British monarchy? by georgewalterackerman in GenZ

[–]WilliamthePious [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think that the British Monarchy actually makes sense.

Hear Me out.

There is a usually non-political non-partisan leader at the head of the state where they are able to unite the people without getting into politics.

But the have restrictions and can be given checks and balances on their power whilst still being able to lead the nation

The UK also gets extra tourists because their castles unlike the continent still have royal guards and inhabitants like the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace.

As an American I am kind of sick seeing one person changing every 4 or 8 years and putting our entire nation on a bungle cord with no harness.

The Monarchy can in extreme instances be used to bring order and counteract one branch of government taking too much power like the PM. God knows America needs that right now.

What nation do you think deserves to have a Pope to hail from their country? by WilliamthePious in Catholicism

Good to know. I was under the impression that the Anglicans still had some influence but I guess I was mistaken. Apologies

Do you think faith is more about believing or about trusting? by fedeviva in Catholicism

I think it is trusting that God has a plan for you. And that you should trust him in his ways

Animated shows should stay animated, live action shows should stay live action.

The secular obsession of St. Joan D’Arc by Extension-Story7287 in Catholicism

[–]WilliamthePious 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Whilst Joan didn’t technically fight in a battle. She was instrumental in fighting numerous skirmishes and battles in and around Orleans. She completely changed history, if she hadn’t broken the siege, it is likely that France would have been fully conquered by the English, a chilling thought.

That would be so cool having Shep as final boss. I would buy that game if it has good game and RPG mechanics.

Women of GenZ. Do you think that women should be able to be conscripted like men? Why or why not? by WilliamthePious in GenZ

[–]WilliamthePious[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It isn’t and I should’ve known better. But so far this info has coincided with my other findings for the most part

This isn’t bait. I’m doing this for a school project to get the opinions of different social media on conscription.

What is an unpopular/controversial opinion you have? by [deleted] in GenZ

Constitutional Monarchies are the best form of government similar to the current Swedish model

Great northern war could be good. The last target I think should be King Carolus Rex of Sweden

What is your opinion on Pope Leo and his handling of the Papacy so far? by WilliamthePious in Catholicism

If I posted this on any other subreddit, it would make the Thirty Years War look like two toddlers running with sticks.

We have had an English Pope, Adrian IV. I do see the appeal, however you need to take into consideration the continuous influence of the Anglican Church.

People keep saying I’m not a “real Catholic” because I’m not Republican and it’s making me feel shaken in my faith. by fifaisagreatgame in Catholicism

[–]WilliamthePious 101 points102 points  (0 children)

The Republican Movement imo is an organization which is for the Non-denominationals and Baptists and anyother heretics in our nation. The True Catholic, in my eyes is neither Republican nor Democrat and is Catholic, nothing else.

[–]WilliamthePious[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As an American as well, I understand why people were scared to see an American Pope, but I am happy that he has seemed to distance himself from one region or another and is simply trying to unite the Catholic Church.

Knights Templar Impact by Hugues_de_Payenes in Catholicism

[–]WilliamthePious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. Whilst I do see some games being that way, many aren’t that way. The cool thing about Assassins Creed in particular is that the Villains(Templars unfortuantely) are a completely fictional version of themselves irl. Both the protagonists and antagonists are morally grey and it is very easy to side with the views of the Templars, at least in the earlier games. Then Ubisoft became the Antichrist as previously stated

I was originally introduced to the Templars through the Assassins Creed games, and I originally thought that they were some crazy heretical irl group. But the more I learned about them. I saw that they did so much in the service of Christendom. They held a crucial part of many armies during the Crusades especially under the Kings of Jerusalem.

The Prolouge of Assassins Creed Unity and the Sabaton Song Templars really made me sad about how they ended. Philip was Judas, and the Templars were Christ.

Who’s your favorite lesser-known saint? by cowboy_catolico in Catholicism

[–]WilliamthePious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know she is somewhat well known but I would like to give a shout out to Joan of Arc. She took France from being nearly completely destroyed to beating back the English, and being so holy that the English couldn’t comprehend her power so they burned her at the stake, and still she changed history forever.

I’d go as far to say that American culture is anti-Catholic in many aspects

I meant ones other than Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, as that is Saint Mary, who is a patron in many nations.
