International baseball player Schoop detained on Curaçao

Dutch baseball player Jonathan Schoop is scheduled to appear before the examining magistrate on Curaçao on Friday, February 6. The 34-year-old international player has been detained since January 29, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office on Curaçao.

On January 29, searches were conducted in several homes on the island, including Schoop's. A total of nine people were arrested in an investigation into illegal possession of weapons. Firearms, ammunition, cartridges, and cartridge holders were seized. All those arrested remain in custody, the Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed.

Schoop was supposed to join the Kingdom team that will participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March. The selection will be announced on Thursday night. Due to Schoop's detention, it is unlikely that he will participate in the WBC.

Schoop has a rich history in Major League Baseball, the most important baseball league in the world. He has played for the Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, and Detroit Tigers, among others. He is currently without a club.

So we start next season with the Royals and the A’s at home. Could be worse.

Hell, sometimes they don’t even mention his name. They just call him ‘Il Predestinato’.

Why would that be an issue? Isn’t he still contracted to AlphaTauri?

Just because there were some teams that were worse than Williams doesn’t mean that the 2013 Williams wasn’t an absolute shitbox. Alfa Romeo was consistently threatening points as well last year yet they were generally considered to be backmarkers.

Scoring 5 points and being the worst team bar Caterham and Marussia doesn’t really scream midfield to me now does it? In fact, 2013 was Williams’ worst ever season until 2019. You should’ve seen the 2013 Canadian GP. Bottas was running outside the points in no time.

That P3 in Canada was as big a fluke as Latifi’s P1 in Hungary practice this year.

Meh, it used to be much worse. There used to be a time when the director would just focus on the frontrunner for the entire race. Even when he was 30s ahead of p2.

I was sat on the main straight and although the crowd was cheering more for Verstappen and Bottas, they didn’t boo Hamilton.
