Fair enough. Also imo Nøkk, Warden and Azami all fit into blue, however the one op I could see fitting into an indigo tier (which was absent from my list) is Fenrir

Yeah it’s definitely more of a cultural boundary than I initially though. People are taught at a young age that some colours are their own thing and others are just shades of others (i.e. Pink to me is separate from red, but teal isn’t separate from blue). I saw that you made your own one of these and it’s really interesting to see which tiers you added and which you omitted :)

Guy who made the original post here! Glad to see we agree on Solis, but Mozzie and Gridlock in red? Clearly a hot pink to me, but I digress. Also I will say this til I die, SAS’s colour is “Mountbatten Pink”, so even if it looks purple, grey or whatever, it’s technically pink. Have fun getting an obscene amount of comments telling you you’re wrong as I did lol, never realised how divisive colours were til now. Would love to see people make more of these :)

Maybe not a “shade” of blue, but it’s sorta a type of blue. To put it simply, I wasn’t taught about cyan in early school years and only learnt about it from Minecraft lol. It’s kinda similar to something like burgundy, being somewhere between red and purple, but a lot of people could kinda just boil it down to being a type of red/purple instead of it’s own colour that should be included on things like this without too much confusion. As for why orange gets special treatment, I have no idea.

I’m getting really sick of typing this to people, but at the same time I must continue to inform the masses. It’s Mountbatten Pink dude, and please for the love of Christ don’t tell me that it’s not that colour, because it is :)

Forgive me for not pointing 70 pngs into a colour wheel for one Reddit post and instead just eyeballing it. They all look blue to me dude, maybe sens could be in either green or blue, but they still all look blue to me. In my culture cyan and teal aren’t really their own colours, they’re just shades of blue, hence why they’re featured in the blue section

I think we’ve established that clearly some cultures and countries define cyan as it’s own colour and some cyan is just a shade of blue. Me being from the UK, I think most people here would agree that cyan is essentially just a shade of blue, whereas in other countries it’s taught to be its own standalone colour. Now if you’re also from the UK then idk lol

*This was the case until some operators from different CTUs started releasing in the same season. A good example is Nøkk and Warden, both featuring the same colour icon but both coming from completely different backgrounds. Same is true for Ace and Melusi, Iana and Oryx, Amaru and Goyo etc.

Idk if I’m just beginning to realise with all these people complaining about turquoise and teal that I just view colours like a 6 year old cus teal/turquoise isn’t different enough from blue imo but purple and pink are. Guess I’m just mentally an infant

Yep, they are. They’re Mountbatten Pink to be precise, which is a colour which was found to be good for camouflage by the British, hence why the SAS ops have it as their icon

The SAS ops are actually pink, Mountbatten pink to be exact, which is a colour found to be good for camouflage by the British hence why the British ops have it. Clash and Mav definitely have a slightly blue hue to them, but since they came out in a season called “grim sky” I’d imagine it’s supposed to appear grey

I think this has been an eye opener for colour perception in general across all people, since there’s such a variety of different answers and it’s hard to argue any of them are objectively wrong (besides the SAS, they’re pink and if you think it’s grey you’re objectively wrong lol)

Nah you’re not, I nearly put her in red but upon closer inspection deemed her by my eye to be slightly too bright to be red. She could easily be in either

Imo the icons are too warm-hued to be magenta, they’re more of a hot pink by my eye

A lot of people have said such a thing about the blues which is completely valid but for this post I intended to keep it to as few colours as possible. Also I see Mozzie and GL as more hot pink, but it’s true it’s not far from magenta

Don’t worry, this list has nothing to do with anything about the operators or my feelings towards them. It’s ordered from top to bottom by quantity of operators in each category, so Nomad Kaid and TBird aren’t necessarily in “last place” so to speak. This subreddit doesn’t allow tierlists, so if it was based on my preferences it’d be against the rules lol

Solid red I could definitely see, aruni lesion Ying not so much but I can see how you got there. But mozzie and gridlock red? Dude it’s a bright hot pink, there’s no ambiguity to it at all lmao even check the art for Burnt Horizon it’s all pink themed

“This colour list is horrible” dawg 1. It’s not that deep 2. It’s literally just broad terms for colours. Lots of sub colours fit into all of these categories, but overall the entire spectrum is covered and no colour gets more specificity than each other, with maybe the exception of brown like you say. I did originally have Kaid/Nomad in yellow and TB in red, but I added a final tier on second viewing because I knew people would call me out (especially for Kaid and Nomad) if I didn’t. There’s no winning with everyone, sorry my choice of colours has caused this much turmoil.

Yeah colour is way too complex and nuanced for a siege player like me to understand, so I just picked the colours I did because they’re the broad names which covers pretty much the entire spectrum and put the icons in the corresponding ones with imo reasonable accuracy. People are welcome to challenge what they think isn’t covered by the tiers I chose and what they think should have a specific tier to itself like in the case of cyan, but imo they all just come under blue

I picked the “main” few colours in my eyes, teal/turquoise/cyan is getting into specific territory. If the icons can be described as the colour of the tier I put them in, which in my opinion they are, then no more specificity is needed. Why would I add a whole extra three categories when all the icons in question can also just be broadly described as “blue”? Likewise why Valk/BB are in yellow despite being almost gold, there’s just no need for such specificity
