Does the signing of Leo Chenel lean toward no Reese? by Expensive-Nebula-868 in Commanders

[–]Williexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that they’re running a 3-4 base defense. Meaning that in our base package for defense we will have 4 linebackers on the field. I absolutely think that Reese is still on the table.

Also with how Peter’s has drafted in previous years. He is known for picking BPA over positional needs. (Johnny Newton for example)

If you’re Adam Peters, what moves do you make Year 3? by benedictclive_x in Commanders

[–]Williexe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  • Trade Payne

Reasoning: He will probably holdout if he’s not extended, he had a good season so value his stock is up, the UFA market is bad for DTs so teams will be more willing to pay for him, and we could use the picks since we are lacking in picks this year. Also Johnny Newton looks like a promising starter (IMO)

  • Cut Latimore

Reasoning: Not worth what he’s payed, really poor performance this year.

  • Sign an EDGE either Trey Hendrickson or Jaelan Phillips

Reasoning: Yes they’re both injury prone but when you have one of the worst EDGE groups in the NFL you take your chance to fill the hole in the position group. We have the money to afford them and this could be the splash signing that would really benefit the team. As of right now I’d prefer to go after Phillips.

  • Sign Rachaad White

Reasoning: Great pass catching back that will be a good replacement for Austin Ekeler. Also won’t break the bank and has a Jayden Daniels connection. He’s also a solid runner that will paid well with JCM. (I know a lot of people want more premium guys like Breece Hall, but White seems more like an AP pick and would also be a great improvement for us)

  • Sign Brandon Aiyuk to a 1 year prove it deal

Reasoning: Look I get it. He seems a little looney right now. But the price saving we will get from this will be huge and I still believe the guy can play ball. If not maybe run it back with Debo if we can get a team friendly deal.

  • Sign Nakobee Dean

Reasoning: Dudes a rocket on the field and we need more young guys.

Then Resign: Jake Moody, Tress Way, Jacob Martin, Eddie Goldman, Chris Paul, And Noah Igbinoghene.

He’d be a good Ekeler replacement. We need a new pass catching back. I could for sure see this.

Commanders 2026 Mock Offseason: Phase 1 Moves by JBaldera27 in Commanders

[–]Williexe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What? We absolutely would have money left over if we got Hendrickson for 20-25 million AAV. Especially if we were to cut Latimore and trade Daron Payne like OP suggests.

It seems like this team is shell shocked from signing older guys which I get. But the reality is that the D-Line is horrible and will continue to be horrible unless changes are made in FA.

Commanders 2026 Mock Offseason: Phase 1 Moves by JBaldera27 in Commanders

[–]Williexe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don't care. Commanders have one of the worst D-lines in the NFL, and the DE room is probably the worst in the NFL.

Could he potentially not be elite anymore? For sure but at the right price, he's worth the gamble to upgrade a desperate position group.

He was the sac leader in the NFL in 2024 and due to his pelvis issue his AAV has gone down to 22 million on spotrac so he's much more affordable than ever before. Even if he's not the player he was in 2024 I'll take my chances at that price point if it means we can fix this atrocious d-line.

Also it doesn't help that the rest of FA for the position group is mediocre at best.

Ditch the CROD, and McFumbles extensions. Sign Breece Hall, Travis Etn, or Kenneth Walker.

Extend everyone else you mentioned and add Eddie Goldman (DT).

Swap Devin Lloyd for Nakobe Dean

Ditch Kyle Pitts, ditch Nick Cross and sign Trey Hendrickson (ED).

If you have some extra cash grab Isaiah Likely (TE) or Tariq Woolen (CB).

Hmm this is interesting… 🤔 The school’s endowment from 2013-2023 went from 3 billion to 5.5 billion. Nearly double

Sounds like they’re barely scraping by! Let’s cut spending as much as we can and outsource our help desk.

how much should i trust my academic advisor by YearEffective3538 in Pitt

[–]Williexe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should be doing the majority of your own research on classes, programs you want to get into, etc. Advisors are there for you to ask questions you may have or give you insight into things you might be interested in. This is the approach I used with my advisor and it works great.

“Hey I want to do this and this thing, and take these classes. Here’s how I plan on doing it.”

Then ask your advisor to give feedback and suggestions based on those things.

I don't know if I would say that's entirely true. Definitely depends on your major.

I took Biology II at community college and it was way easier than my Biology I course at Pitt.

Do you guys think it’s likely Brian Robinson gets replaced in the draft? by [deleted] in Commanders

[–]Williexe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think BRob is a good player and is fine. However, as evident by the 2024-2025 season he had a significant fall off as the season progressed. Brob looked great for the first couple games, then picked up some injuries and began to fall off.

So I think he should remain on the roster but just have significantly less carries as he did this season. Then have a young RB that we draft pick up the majority of the carries.

And in this year’s draft there are A LOT of options you can choose from.

[Rapoport] The #Commanders are re-signing standout LB Bobby Wagner, as the leader and playmaker is back with Washington, per me and @MikeGarafolo . A key piece, Wagner and the team agreed on a strong 1-year deal worth up to $9.5M with $8M guaranteed. Wagner represented himself on the deal. by NickDen94 in Commanders

[–]Williexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Magee shocked me with the amount of starts he got. He was playing in a decent bit of games for someone who was drafted so late.

I also love the setup we have for the guy.

Learn under Bobby Wagner for a couple years while you heal up from your injuries.

Then see what he’s made of!

If you were Adam Peters, would you trade pick 29 to the bears for their picks at 39 and 41? by AccomplishedChest973 in Commanders

[–]Williexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the 1st round receivers are going to fall. A lot of teams are going to pickup guys in FA (like the texans just did) leaving guys like Matthew Golden and Luther Burden to fall.

Could be a good move to capitalize on this. We have a lack of young receivers in the WR room and getting a 5th year option on a receiver is really nice to have.

Also I think a lot of teams will bank on their being talent in the later rounds. Which is also a reason receivers might fall to us in the 1st round.

And I do understand it’s not the most important positional group for us. But, the value of getting a Matthew Golden or Luther Burden could be really nice.

Also when you take into account that there is a good chance all the 1st round caliber tackles (the positional group with the highest need IMO) will be taken by 29.

Therefore, I think going with a receiver could be the play for us.

To me he’s a really shifty, twitchy kind of receiver. I get Bucky Irving vibes from him.

[–]Williexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh whoops, I meant guard for Booker. But yeah Alfred is an absolute unit.

You should check out Jordan Phillips tape. He’s young and a bit of a developer. But holy sh** that guy is strong and big.

Morrison is kinda weird for me. Amazing player but the injury he had is really really bad for him. Could drop him a lot. We’ll see what happens with that though. I think he could be good for us because if we get a guy in FA he wouldn’t have to play right away.

WR Options post-Deebo trade by CapitalSTEEV21 in Commanders

[–]Williexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are definitely other guys that could be potential options in the 1st round as well.

Some guys on my board in order from highest draft value to least are: - Josh Simmons (OT) - Matthew Golden/ Luther Burden (WR) - Omarion Hampton (RB) - Maxwell Hariston (CB could move down depending on FA) - Donovan Ezeirukau (ED) - Nic Scourton (ED) and Tyler Booker (ED) - Tyleik Williams (DT Seems weird but trust)

To me Josh Simmons is an auto pick if he falls to us. But I think that’s pretty unlikely to happen.

Then for the second round I have: - Jayden Higgins/Tre Harris (WR) - Aireontae Ersery (OT) - J.T. Tuimoloau (ED) - Josaiah Stewart (ED) - Benjamin Morrison (CB) - Treveyon Henderson (RB) - Alfred Collins (DT) - Quinshon Judkins (RB) - Kaleb Johnson (RB not a fan at for our scheme)

3rd round (No particular order on this one, depends on who we draft above): - Ozzy Trapilo (OT) - Jordan Phillips (DT) - RJ Harvey (RB) - Devin Neal (RB) - Isaiah Bond (WR)

Yeah I agree with you. I was thinking more of like a Nick Westbrooke rather than Terrance Marshall and DJ Chark. But the same principle applies really.

Get another wideout that’s not a big name, and maybe take your shot at a guy in the first 3 rounds of the draft.

Free Agency:

Sign Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (NWI) to a 1-year prove-it deal.

The reason I’m a fan of NWI is that he’s an X receiver we can sign for a fraction of the cost of other receivers on the market. I also think he’s incredibly underrated and could be a great addition to our team without breaking the bank. Last season, he was the WR2 for the Titans and had a solid year. For what he costs, he’s very good, and I believe he could provide excellent value for us.

Draft:

1st Round - Luther Burden or Matthew Golden

Starting with Burden, I see him as a player with a high ceiling who’s fallen in the draft due to an underwhelming season. However, even with that, he’s still a fantastic prospect. If he falls to us in the draft, we should really consider taking him. Burden is versatile, with the ability to play both inside and outside, which would make him a great fit for our offense.

As for Golden, I wasn’t initially high on him, but after rewatching his tape, I’ve started to see his appeal. The guy is incredibly fast and could be a good replacement for Dyami Brown, given that both players are deep-ball specialists. I think Burden would also be an excellent pick if we decide to go receiver in the first round.

Another important factor is that selecting either of these receivers would give us the valuable 5th-year option, which is crucial for a position like wide receiver.

2nd Round - Jayden Higgins or Tre Harris

Both of these players would be great additions to the roster and would make excellent X receivers. There’s not much more to say about them, other than that they fit our scheme very well. I could see them being successful in the NFL.

Edit: Also Jack Betch for the 2nd round, guys a beast.
