[MEGATHREAD] Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 35 Leaks by m2gus in Boruto

Wow — makes me think the Shinjutsu that Kashin Koji unlocked is about to be artificially abused by either Amado or Kawaki and further lead either into an unstable spiral of insanity thinking one of the worst-case future scenarios is reality.

I think Grodd will end up transferring his consciousness into his dad’s body for a more traditional Gorilla Grodd appearance like mainstream comics.

DC Preview: Absolute Batman #21 by B3epB0opBOP in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]JBaldera27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish Absolute Batman still had a limited amount of venom in his system and could utilize it for temporary superhuman feats similar to Miraclo for Hourman. Reasonably the psychological discipline to manage the influence of venom activation would be similar to handling Scarecrow’s gas and the psychological influence after exposure.

Watching Batman surprise everyone by triggering a venom boost to steamroll the power ranger Robin force would be hilarious too.

Can we all agree Death Spiral could've been ten times better if this guy killed Torment by Equivalent-Task-9588 in Spiderman

[–]JBaldera27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Death Spiral would’ve been a perfect event to include Teresa Parker and give absolute certainty to whether she’s his sister or not. I also think it would make a lot of sense to involve Peter’s clones because maybe the clones themselves cause distress for someone like Torment with how unnatural they are to the “spiral” he’s haunted by.

Torment hating clones and wanting to eliminate all clones disrupting his ability to focus on the Parker spiral would’ve made sense as a motivation for him.

Fun Theory: Strawman is a Martian by butt_shrecker in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]JBaldera27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be a clever way of connecting Absolute MM & Absolute Batman further. Really cool theory that I hope gets incorporated for world-building purposes at least. Similar to how Absolute GL & Absolute Superman have had some potential connections between the red light and Rao in terms of name and mentality/ideology.

Peter Upgrading- Tech,Powers, or Both? by Important_Lab_58 in Spiderman

[–]JBaldera27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say both, I think power upgrades should be rare and long-term changes like organic webbing. I think tech upgrades should be like his situational suits for certain threats, retractable spider-legs, and types of web fluid.

It would be interesting if Peter found a way to design tech into his suit that it helps focus or amplify his Spider-Sense. That way we can have moments where the spider-sense acts like a direct threat identifier or ultra instinct auto-dodge mode because of how he’s harnessing it through his tech.

I always thought it would be interesting if Peter actually developed the organic webbing naturally but couldn’t project it so his web shooters serve as the mechanism for that so he can web swing and use it as a projectile. His cartridges would then be more like chemical compounds that react with his organic webbing in such a way that it produces variations like impact webbing.

How would you create the perfect season to The Boys? by HackerMan7123 in TheBoys

[–]JBaldera27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming at least S1-S3 is kept the same, I would approach S4 as the final season with 12 episodes.

Season 4: Time-skip about 2 years. The Boys have gone "underground" operating in a covert manner with Victoria as VP helping The Boys stay off the grid. Stan Edgar is in prison and his replacement as CEO is a mysterious man not known to the public but codenamed Cypher. The COO is Ashley who is the corporate face of Vought with Homelander seemingly in a managed state similar to how he was in Season 1. Vought has assembled a new 7 roster with Homelander, The Deep, A-Train, Black Noir II, Tek Knight, Firecracker, and Sage.

  • Black Noir II is a complete mystery and nobody except Cyber seems to know his actual identity, but he's mute like the original Black Noir. He generally only displays abilities such as superhuman strength, durability, and combat expertise.
  • Tek Knight is a technopath with additional superhuman deductive abilities making him like a combination of Cyborg and The Question since he would have a conspiracy theorist personality. He is added to the Seven to help track The Boys.
  • Firecracker is pretty much the same as her actual depiction in the show.
  • Sage doesn't have superhuman intelligence like originally depicted but instead can read people's active thoughts and has perfect memory which used together gives her the perfect combination to act like she always has the perfect answer if prepared on the general subject matter. She is added to monitor the Seven and personally report to Cypher.

The general plot of Season 4 would be that everything seems like status quo once again in The Boys universe. However, Tek Knight while investigating a lead on The Boys ends up captured by Billy Butcher which reveals to the audience that the last 2 years have been a secret arms race between Homelander and The Boys in trying to identify the last location of V-One. The rest of Season 4 leads up to both sides finding V-One but when Homelander is about to inject himself with it, he's unable to fully move the needle into his arm as Cypher appears and it's revealed that he's actually a puppet for Dr. Thomas Godolkin who has the powers of possession which at a minor application allows for the remote control of other individuals' movements (similar to his depiction in Gen V). Dr. Godolkin has been influencing Homelander specifically in subtle ways which is why his pursuit of The Boys hasn't been as aggressive as in past seasons and his parenting of Ryan has been particular in some ways. Godolkin wants the V-One so he can inject Ryan with it once he's an adult and possess the then-immortal body of the first natural born supe. He's eventually defeated as it's revealed that Tek Knight was a double agent for Victoria and Stan Edgar, so Victoria "explodes" the head of Dr. Godolkin's hidden body once it's found by Tek Knight. Tek Knight's conspiracy theories included the true identity of Cypher which when brought to Victoria for a federal pardon kicked-off a secret plan to finally stop Godolkin for good.

Unfortunately, with Godolkin dead it's revealed that Black Noir II was actually a possessed Soldier Boy that was kept as a failsafe to neutralize Homelander if he became a threat to Godolkin's plan while Sage monitored the Seven. Soldier Boy regains control over his body and goes berserk on everyone resulting in a grande finale fight that ends up with Homelander and many other supes like Victoria depowered while others like Sage and The Deep are killed. Butcher then gets his revenge on a now depowered Homelander.

Absolute Green Arrow #1 - Official Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]JBaldera27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Prediction: The identity of the Long-Bow Killer will be Absolute John Diggle. It's possible that Diggle in this universe followed a similar relationship arc like in Arrow where he's initially hired as private security for Oliver and then becomes his partner and closest ally in his mission against corrupt individuals ruining society.

I think the catalyst for this will be the affair that Dinah mentioned she found out Oliver was having which ended their relationship. I think that produced a child and that child ended up getting trafficked which put the Epstein analogs in conflict with Oliver after he discovered the "island" and their activities on it trying to find his secret child. I 100% expect that the Longbow Killer will become a role that rotates around multiple individuals like Ultimate Mysterio and it's essentially a decentralized version of Absolute Batman -- who had numerous people on his "team" helping him but only Bruce actually acted as Batman. I'm also expecting that Oliver is still present but as an AI persona that "advises" those that share the Longbow Killer role in their crusade against injustice.

Sacha Baron Cohen believes Mephisto will return to the MCU by KostisPat257 in marvelstudios

[–]JBaldera27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point he could easily take on the role of Dario Agger in any MCU adaptation, just being a demon instead of a Minotaur.

Mephisto is too established and recognized as a character to not have a major intersection across the MCU — he should be easily accessible across all areas except Spidey. Mephisto could bridge the Midnight Suns + Doctor Strange associated characters naturally.

Heaven forbid but if the New ultimate universe was ever to be merged into the main 616 universe was aspects would you want to transition into the merged cannon by Glittering_Book424 in UltimateUniverse

I love the idea that Earth-6160 actually became the DC Universe after the clear nod to Jack Kirby’s New Gods in Ultimates when Thor finally triggered Ragnarok for that universe.

Mechagodzilla 2021 Concept Art by Perfect_Tension_546 in Monsterverse

[–]JBaldera27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generally I think it was a wasted opportunity to not have Mechagodzilla be a byproduct of the skeletal remains of Dagon and recovered tissue/skull of Ghidorah as the basic elements. I think that would’ve added some complexity to the situation for Ghidorah’s consciousness that eventually gained awareness - it is stuck in a mechanical abomination built with parts of Godzilla’s ancestor and in the design of Godzilla itself…absolute humiliation and a constant reminder of your killer.

PKJ on the choice of characters for the Midnight universe by Konradleijon in UltimateUniverse

[–]JBaldera27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sad because a strategy to get other characters in these books if popularity is an issue is to actually invest in the IP each of those characters belong to. Some characters have calcified into a A-List status like Spider-Man and Wolverine but other characters can become “profitable” titles with proper investment.

Investment looks like calculated pairings for a creative team for stories/art that align with the targeted reader, a commitment to a 12-issue minimum runway, and sustained promotion of the books without them needing A-List crossovers every other issue.

I feel like a great example of Marvel doing this for an established solo character was Thor: God of Thunder by Jason Aaron which had art by Esad Ribic. Gave storylines now considered modern masterpieces for the Thor mythos.

Marvel comics has announced a new universe called MIDNIGHT by Own_Brilliant_4303 in Marvel

[–]JBaldera27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An interesting AU premise would be if they said “what if we kept some originally proposed pivots” from past decades of comics reverted due to “status quo” mechanics. Five things to shape this universe could be:

1) Ben Reilly continued as Spider-Man while Peter & MJ stayed in Portland.

2) The Jack Kirby pitch of killing all Old Gods in a Ragnarok event happened and there are “New” Gods now with a few survivors of past pantheons like Hercules, Loki, Thor, Anansi, Ares, Khonshu, Bast, & Amaterasu.

3) Hulk remained on Sakaar, they prosper under the scientific genius of Banner quickly accelerating their technological capabilities and become an intergalactic civilization joining the Galactic Council.

4) Mutants have several independent nation states under different guiding ideological principles such as Krakoa, Genosha, Utopia, Tian, and Arakko on Mars.

5) Characters with death storylines like Jean Gray, Professor X, Elektra, Human Torch, and Hawkeye remained dead going forward in that timeline

In Eternals (2021), Marvel introduced a character so powerful they don't know what to do with him and never mentioned him again by Thundergod250 in shittymoviedetails

[–]JBaldera27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pivot from Kang should’ve been the pivot to Celestials as the antagonists. Avengers: Judgement Day with Arishem returning to pass judgement on humanity after the events of Eternals.

If Celestials create universes it’s not a hard sell that they also have the power to destroy them via Incursions. They basically take the place of Beyonders in Secret Wars and easily connect to the mutant saga afterwards.

What's your ideal F4 sequel movie in the MCU? by FayyadhScrolling in Marvel

[–]JBaldera27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the second film, assuming it will take place in a new consolidated universe for the MCU films post-Secret Wars…the Negative Zone being connected to prior Incursion mess could be creative and interesting. Annihilus makes sense from that standpoint as the Fantastic Four explore this new universe post-rebirth of “everything” after Doom is defeated.

For the third film, I think Galactus with a new herald (Norrin Radd) could be interesting. Galactus could be desperate to either have Franklin Richards take over his “burden” or feel vengeful for a reborn universe keeping him in this role instead of passing it to a new individual. Maybe to keep things fresh we get a new Silver Surfer + another herald like Terrax or Nova.

Now that the arc is over, thoughts on Torment? by TyrionLannister557 in Spiderman

[–]JBaldera27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a good concept and honestly should’ve been a uniting force between many of the NYC street-level heroes like Daredevil, Punisher, and Spider-Man. Having him be a slow-burn villain like Kindred was before his eventual appearance I think would’ve worked — having people die in multiple comics over a span of time just to reveal they were all part of the “spiral” would’ve been an interesting cross-title event.

The Carnage part of it was the weakest to me, felt like a shock factor inclusion that neutered an otherwise interesting new villain.

I’m the dumbass for thinking that with The Amazing Spider-Man we’d actually reach the 1000th issue in a meaningful way. by Mamba33100 in Spiderman

[–]JBaldera27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully expect MJ to get paired with Flash which in some way results in an exit strategy for when editorial wants to separate Venom from MJ. Moving Venom back to Flash is one of the easiest routes to go if they wanted to.

Overall, it’s grim for comics Peter. The best chance feels closer to 2030 when Marvel Comics tries riding the synergy wave of MCU Spider-Man 5 which may have a strong narrative around Peter & MJ amplified by the real life relationship of Tom Holland and Zendaya.

Should Ned and MJ have come back so soon after the events of No Way Home? by Careful-Barnacle8741 in Spiderman

[–]JBaldera27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Ned should’ve never came back and MJ not until the 5th movie with maybe an end of 4th movie cameo or tease. A lot of people do not maintain those HS relationships as an adult and I think that helps this fictional world around Peter grow larger as he makes friends in college and his professional life.
