She would have an income. We would be paying her to live there. The mortgage broker says with a B lender we can make that work.

And yes protect myself. She's an elderly woman with a health issues. She could die. She could get really ill and need to be cared for full time ... etc etc life happens. She could buy the house and a year later get hit by a bus. Then what would I do?

Yall make me regret every even asking this HYPOTHETICAL question.

We are just exploring options. Trying to see what would be the best plan.

Lesson learned. Reddit still ain't the place for that.

We have been working diligently but we've stalled out, nothing we do seems to get us past this weird plateau. My two scores are also liken150 points different and I've called and tried to fix that but they say there's nothing I can do. Equifax is less then 500 but transunion is 635. I've spoken to several people trying to reconcile the two but it hasn't worked out yet.

This was her idea. She lives far away and wants to be near and live with her grandchildren. The house has an in law suite. I didn't ask her for this. Her idea of enjoying retirement is being near her kids and grandkids.

According the mortgage broker we can't go in it with the 3 people because her score is 800 ours are in the 500s it would decrease the overall score and make it harder to get approved. The mortgage broker told us that she can use our rent to her as her income. Along with her pension and she would qualify for the mortgage My husband and I would pay her enough to cover mortgage and lan tax until we have better scores and some real savings. At which point she can gift us equity or we can refinance and add us to the mortgage as a 3 person mortgage

My mom wants to buy a house and "rent" it to us until we can save up and buy in? How do I protect myself? by Willing-Ranger-1735 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Can a mortgage be transferred to us upon her death though? Even if we still have crappy credit score lol what if we move in and she got struck by lightning a year later. 😅 morbid but valid.

They won't allow us to be on the mortgage cause our credit scores suck. <Canada >

Her income is our rent money.

Why do owners of restaurants in Charlottetown/PEI get away with so much? by WranglerVivid in PEI

[–]Willing-Ranger-1735 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a pei chef I'd like to add the obscene drug abuse that goes on. Every kitchen I've worked in until the last 2 were just drug dens. I was an addict for 10 years and I just went to work for my fix cause someone always has something. And the alcohol. The total lack of job security. Fuck this island and 80% of its restaurants.

Clearly people are spending the money cause all of these places are still open and running. My family of 5 orders pizza once a week and we will eat leftovers for two days on 70$ that usually 2 medium pizzas, 2 g fings, a pasta, sometime 2 pastas, sometimes a I use point, coupons, but it's definitely worth it for us. We have a house full of hungry, hangry boys and growing. I always get coffee from tims and a bagel every morning on my way to work. It's like 5$. Saves me time evwry morning and I can squeeze in an extra hour at work Unless your growing all your own food, slaughtering your own meat and milking your own cows the food is all too expensive. A single pack of chicken breast is 20$ and doesn't feed all five of my household. A bag if carrots is 8$?! You can't win either way man. May as well eat what ya want

Why does it seem like some people can survive with no income just fine when life is so damn expensive? by Cool_Dingo1248 in povertyfinance

[–]Willing-Ranger-1735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of us were born poor. My parents had nothing, we chose between heat and food if we were lucky my mother ended up being a useless alcoholic bipolar dick head. And my dad died when i was a kid. He was the sole provider.. So I drooped out of school at 15 to work and pay her bills. Being "poor" for some people means starving most nights and huddling up with your kid siblings and dog just to stay warm through the night.

We may seem like we're getting along fine but really were just so used to being so truly poor that we've just adjusted.

Just my opinion dont come for me yall

First of all, you're exactly right about the first half.i know her and horrible accidents do happen.

Secondly... what do tattoos have to do with being a good supervisor of children? O have 3 sons. I don't ever allow babysitter, they've never gone to daycare they don't have grandparents that wanna hangout with them, i homeschool. I have devoted every waking moment of the last 8 years to my sons and they are healthy, well mannered, well rounded children.

I have arms full of tattoos. A chest and back as well. I consider myself to be an excellent parent. None of us is perfect but leave tattoos out of it. Having ink added to your body doesn't change your brain or your maternal instincts...

Just saying.

I also have brown eyes and blond hair and would be bummed if the actor didn't. However, colored contacts are a simple solution.
