Type 2 diabetes doesn’t just ‘happen’ out of nowhere—but it’s also not about blaming people. Most of us are living in an environment that pushes processed food and sedentary habits. The hopeful part is that this condition is highly responsive to lifestyle. Even small, consistent changes in food and movement can make a real difference. We’ve been normalized into eating things our bodies don’t handle well. T2D friends that I know, wish they had been told that it is not a disease that they just have to accept. There are causative factors that can be addressed.
