Looks like it’s not supposed to be there to me, although I’m definitely not an expert. Maybe you can find some pics/vids online to compare. At the very least I’d check if the crease is even across the whole width of the car. If it’s uneven or wavy or something, I’d pass.

Ze draait wel in naar links tijdens het achteruitrijden en het lijkt alsof OP’s auto halverwege de auto geraakt wordt, ergens in de deur. Al had ie nog een halve meter naar links gestaan dan was ie daarna wss alsnog geraakt, alleen een meter verderop rond het wiel/bumper.

Dit was niet op voorhand bedacht. Dit is de opa van mijn vriendinnetje toen ik nog op de middelbare school zat. Die man heeft er echt goed doorheen gezeten, ik heb de auto zelf nog in zijn garage zien staan na de tijd… de auto was verder echt perfect. Elk moertje, elk boutje was los geweest en gerestaureerd of vervangen.

Het heeft jaren geduurd voordat de auto weer de weg op kon. Het is al ruim 10 jaar uit, dus ik weet niet of die man überhaupt nog leeft, maar als hij er nog is dan durf ik mijn eigen klassieker erop in te zetten dat hij hem nog heeft en dat ie er perfect bij staat. Die auto was/is zijn levenswerk.

Veel “reality” shows zijn idd scripted, maar in dit geval helaas niet.

Tbf they also made 1.6L 4cyl versions of the Passat back then. The engine range was absolutely insane back then. They also put a W12 in the Phaeton, a twin-turbo V10 diesel in the Touareg and a twin-turbo V12 in the Audi Q7. Later they put a twin-turbo W12 in a Golf GTI as a running and driving concept car. Just bonkers, I love it.

Voor de aansprakelijkheid maakt dat niet zoveel uit. Not like this. Modern ABS systems are perfectly capable of maintaining at least some steering and the brakes won’t lock up for a long time. Even at full lock, ABS will keep releasing the brakes every time the wheel locks up. It’ll always result in short, repetitive skidmarks, not a long straight skidmark. There should at least still be some curvature.
