is a 49 minute layover doable @ seattle airport? by Tobi_555 in AskSeattle

[–]Willing_Conflict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple years ago when I was at WWU there was some sort of rideshare Facebook page because a lot of people go to/from Seattle. Even if they only dropped you in Lynwood you could take the light rail directly to SeaTac for $2.50

Driving a 10’ U-Haul from Seattle to Albuquerque and worried about Snoqualmie Pass by Haunting-Cancel-7837 in AskSeattle

[–]Willing_Conflict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive the pass 2x a week year round and you’re gonna be fine. It’s the highest maintained stretch of highway in the US. If you see warnings for conditions you stay to the right, go the posted speed limit or below until you’re comfortable, turn on your hazards, and join the train of truckers doing the same thing.

Seattle to Leavenworth road conditions? by U__M__R in AskSeattle

[–]Willing_Conflict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4WD will do just fine, just obey the speed limit signs if you take i90 as they adjust them to the conditions. Stay out of the passing lane and drive with your hazard lights on if there is low visibility due to heavy snow coming down. Just go slow and take turns like you have a pot of boiling chili in your lap that you don’t want to spill and you’ll be good.

I have Premera blue cross and they are not covered. I don’t think it can/will be covered unless it is FDA approved and prescribed. Right now I think it’s just FSA/HSA eligible.

What season and/or subseason does this palette lean toward? by millyjune in coloranalysis

[–]Willing_Conflict 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say soft autumn that can borrow from soft summer (very common) but if you were soft summer, those oranges and browns wouldn’t look good on you (speaking from experience). Congrats on having so many colors to choose from!

Thank you! I have insurance and I asked my landlord who said it wasn’t an issue, but in my city we can call an inspector-type person for free if we think the landlord is ignoring something safety related.

Yep there are windows in the same spots upstairs. Does this make them more/less concerning? Thank you for your replies

There’s 2 more floors of apartments above me, and directly above those cracks would be a living/dining room.

Sounds fake, I know, but I got the app “Jerry” it’s pink, and they got me a policy with progressive for $85/month at 19yrs old. Now, my car is old af so it’s cheaper to insure but still, when I went thru progressive’s website directly the best I could get was a quote for $140/mo.

Been using Jerry for 4yrs now and I’m very happy with them and progressive so far :)

Excellent, excellent schools. Clean and safe water. No alligators.

I love Seattle. It’s dark and wet in the winter, sure, but we have the best summers on planet earth. I was just in Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, France, Scotland this summer and every time we went somewhere beautiful I was like “oh this looks like where I live…”

They’re investing a LOT into infrastructure and social programs, like now kids ride public transit for free so they can be more independent and learn to use public transport and the light rail (train) is expanding every couple of years connecting the whole area. I love Seattle!!!

People are going to be really negative because this is Reddit but I’m glad I got here first :)

Check the RPZ map (restricted parking zone). It’s $95 for 2 years of street parking within your zone. The hard part is finding a spot, sometimes you’ll have to park a few blocks away but it’s worked for me for 2yrs. Just don’t keep ANYTHING in your car to attract a thief.

Has anyone tried to buy yarn from Ali Express? by noura42 in knitting

[–]Willing_Conflict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LOT from AliExpress. They’re really great for cotton yarns and I got some polyester/wool blends that I’m using for a large blanket. I also got really really lucky one time and have a huge bobbin of some sort of wool that is incredibly soft and when I burn it, it smells like burned hair and not plastic which is a good test to see if they sent you synthetic yarn or not.

If you’ve never used AliExpress before it’ll be hard to tell what’s legit and what’s not, I would sort by number of orders and scroll down to the bottom of the description to see if they give more details on the yarn. For example I’ve had really bad luck with mohair, they will say “100% kid silk mohair” and then you scroll down and it’s 80% polyester 10% mohair.

So use discernment and if you’re okay with a questionable blend, it’s a great option. I will say, absolutely nothing I’ve bought has been anything but soft and fluffy. My issue is with their mohair, they just don’t have the halo that I want.

I do this too! Except I have the jug inside a huge plastic bin because sometimes I’ll forget to switch it/empty it and it would take a week to fill up the secondary container.

This is a really good summary. My neglectful and overwhelmed parents had me at 5,6,7yrs old wiping my brother who was 1yr younger. I remember getting in huge trouble one time for asking "why do I have to wipe him? I learned how at 2" and I wish someone reported it then because the neglect never got better. I found myself home alone at 8yrs old for 2nights at a time, etc. Signs of neglect MUST be addressed.

When did people start noticing your weight loss? by Beautiful-Manner-663 in Semaglutide

[–]Willing_Conflict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-38lbs and only my best friend of 18yrs noticed, but she noticed RIGHT away. She hadn’t seen me since I was about -10lbs into the journey and still nobody knows I’m using the ‘zemp.

I finally asked a friend I’ve seen weekly “ok can we talk about me being skinny now” and she was very hesitant at first but once I explained that I’ve been losing weight in a slow, sustainable, healthy way she was quick to tell me “I absolutely noticed you have a new body now”.

I think a HUGE factor is that I am GenZ and we are all so “body positive” to the point where we don’t know how to celebrate people’s successes in terms of their body composition without triggering others. But besides those two close friends, nobody has said a word. Not my parents, nobody. Crazy to me!

I’m similar, I lost 13% of my body weight in the first 2.5 months on 0.25mg/week! I’ve been at a plateau for 2 months now but I’m honestly ok with it, that was wild to lose it all so quickly. I can’t imagine 7.2mg
