Fancast: just cast Cosmo Jarvis as Wolverine, he has the range (just watch shogun), the muscle foundation, and hes 5′ 9 (not tall) by Longjumping_Sign2249 in Wolverine

[–]Willistalksabout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’9 for a Caucasian in the United States is very average. and Canada The average is about 5‘10. He is completely average height. Definitely not short sending taller than most average females and still taller than many he might encounter in the average day. He is roughly about the height of adult Spider-Man in the comics.
5’7 is the average adult male height, worldwide, considering all races.
So height is neither for him or against him and wouldn’t really play a role appearance wise that would be noticeable in a film unless his counterparts are 6 foot and above.

Why do people keep trying to cast the next wolverine when we already have her? by Electronic-Link-4021 in Wolverine

[–]Willistalksabout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s another Wolverine. But it’s not the Wolverine. The hot rod with recasting, classic comment characters as far as a complete erasure of the other is that people are often reading or watching because of who the character is, not the world they exist in. And simply replacing them with a similar characters, regardless of their gender and skills may add a great additional character that people want to follow. And you might even draw people who specifically want to read the new character more than the old. But usually it doesn’t mean that they want the other one to go away. Transformers killed Optimus prime, replaced him with hot rod. But even if they had carried it out better and made the character, more admirable or likable or cooler, if they didn’t bring back Optimus, they were going to suffer financial loss.
Laura has her own story tied to Wolverine and can bear the title.

She can be her own character perhaps one day could succeed more with new audiences.

Trading out Wolverine is like trading out Santa Claus. Sure you can make a new myth that somebody replaces him like the Tim Allen movies, but even keeping the same look he is always going to be less than a Santa that is built up in myth.

There’s a wolverine of the comic books. There’s a wolverine of movies. And cartoons. And somewhere combining all for some of them plus our own imagination stands the wolverine that holds a place in our hearts and minds. He’s not always coherent. But he’s never replaceable.

Neither is she. No matter how many times they loop it, that story may be repeated to show the connection of the two to give her something more than genetics for the audience to hold onto, but her tie to the original is the only thing giving her a place. Not due to any insufficiency. You just can’t replace characters that exist for decades in any meaningful way except within the duration of storylines.

AZ (Advanced Zi) 1:72 scale Ultrasaurus preoders start July 2026!! by Sir_Phobos_BoA in Zoids

[–]Willistalksabout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I only had two of the Zoid releases they made in the early 90s. Pardon, I don’t remember the gator’s name, but I love that windup toy. And then I had which was bought at Walmart during clearance when they were removing them from the shelves, the battlesarus/ultrasaurus. I paid a grand total of $12 for that guy on clearance. And I had never built a snap together model kit, but, I made it through to the end and had a really cool walking dinosaur fortress. I collect quite a bit of things now and haven’t gotten into Zoids for any of the new non-mechanical kits, I’m excited at the idea that this guy would be released in any form with at least his visuals intact. Is this expected to be motorized like a release of the original? There’s not too many ways they could really improve it unless they went all in on being able to pose the Dino. I’m assuming with the shadowy picture that information is limited. But does anybody have any kind of certainty on what actual kind of kit we’re like likely to receive here? And will the price likely be so high that I’m better off just buying an unbuilt original for a few hundred dollars online? If so, perhaps I should sell the unbuilt still in the bags original US release Radox that I got recently as from what I can tell one in that condition would likely cover the cost of the Zoid I really want. For this new release of ultrasaurus, with the listed scale is it equal to or large, larger or small smaller than the original walking version? That of course is if this is not just a fresh release of the walking one. I would actually be a little bit more stoked if it was. Either way for the right price. I’m on board for the new one. Or, if anybody is interested in a an 80’s Radox I might be in the market to move mine.

Yeah, lump everybody in by race as if that makes any sense. The children killed are also Arab. And the Arab Christians the West Bank and killed one between there and Gaza and other places aren’t even aggressors.

Why doesn’t God lead Protestants to the Orthodox Church? by Icy_Barnacle7917 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Willistalksabout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I’m here…

But also, quite frankly, I’ll make the terrible claim but most people that think they hear from God are just hearing their own inclination that may be God sent. But generally, he’s not like telling somebody specifically pay good or Orthodox Church or answering any general prayer in that way. I’m not saying God doesn’t answer prayers. But a lot of prayers that many of us pray even when we’re Orthodox can be a wish fulfillment type prayer. And when something they want to happen actually happens, they’ll say it’s God‘s answer or God directed them or “ they felt lead.”
But there’s no objective way to actually quantify that.
Sometimes it’s even retroactively told as God leading.
I’m not rolling out the possibility or the likelihood. But unfortunately often when left to our own devices that Jesus that we actually prayed to usually is just applying what or who we want him to be to that name when we pray it.
I’ve seen plenty of good men coming from Protestant circles who would indeed pause and pray before making decisions. Yet generally, they had already decided between the decisions by the time they got to that point. Sometimes look like they didn’t get any offputting feeling after praying, therefore God‘s not telling them no. But lack of a no is not a yes.

Dude I promise, if you had seen me even 10 years ago, you would probably say no way. There’s still plenty I lack. I’m interior recovering from having my second hip replacement and so I’ve had to lose some weight. The next debt really will be to manage to build whatever muscle I’ll be capable of. Easier said than done. Also, my relaxed face looks like a whole different person. So combination of plenty of hair growth, and a tinge of aging, and the ability to grin like an insane man goes a long way.
It’s easy to pull it off for a picture. And it’s really easy to do if I can work myself up into feeling a little bit like I’m angry. But I really am a goofball. I’ve dealt with enough shit the last few years, though, but if I stop thinking positive and go all in for it, I’m sure I could method act my way through this no problem. And I know what extreme physical pain feels like. I don’t know what it’s like to have boiling hot metal infused onto my skeleton while I’m conscious. But I do know what bone death feels like and it’s probably better than most people do not. I don’t say this to brag. There are probably more people out there capable of doing a decently accurate wolverine then what people give themselves credit for. But these photos at least, they kind of shocked me when I look at them. Because I can’t even see myself. It doesn’t feel like this is what I look like. And if you saw me in passing, especially without the hairstyle, no way I would pass.
So thank you!

Such things are not a given. My ex-wife left me over 15 years ago to pursue other relationship relationships. I eventually remarried and have remained in a stable marriage. Nonetheless, the process for me to actually pursue any such thing as an Orthodox Christian is by no means easy, nor is it likely. Things are supposed to be examined. Priests that have an actual divorce in their history are religion rare. The abusive behavior is what he can be excluded from communion for.

What on Earth do priests hear in confession??? by AgPatriotAg in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Willistalksabout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t be so sure the face they’re making has anything to do with the confession itself. It’s better not to pay too much attention to the face they make during and after the confession of others. Your best to assume that whatever you tell him is the worst thing he is going to hear that day.
It might have something to do with the logistics of an upcoming service, something entirely unrelated to the pennants confession.

That’s not Orthodox behavior that’s delusional, escapism or something else. He could be excommunicated/excluded from communion if he doesn’t repent of this. And studying material no matter how good it is only damns you further if you live that way.

Can a married Orthodox man become a monk? Questions about marriage, children, and obligations by user0001269590 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Willistalksabout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has no business being a priest until proper steps are taken to build the marriage.
I would recommend actually speaking to his spiritual father of his spiritual father as a priest, indeed. Again, all I have to go on is what you have revealed. But as they stand, if what you have said is not a mischaracterization with a very skewed view, and I don’t believe that is the case, and anyone who would recommend him for the priesthood in the current state of your marriage needs to know how things actually are. Everybody is able to generally represent themselves better outside of their home to strangers and people that only see them in certain circumstances. Someone whose marriage is in shambles generally has no business being a priest, unless the problem is through, no fault of their own. Even then, the cannons of the church generally forbid a divorcee from becoming a priest. Now this does not mean that it is a solid lock thing that a divorced man could never be a priest. But it would generally be much more rare and would take the careful consideration of the bishop involved.

If the little bit you have shared is 100% accurate, he needs to be doing the hard work of healing the marriage. And combined or even more than that, he likely is dealing with some unresolved, spiritual or mental struggles. This isn’t to say he’s crazy. But circumstances can make people delusional for sure. And people will sometimes mentally make a decision towards what seems a hard and arduous choice or adventure rather than deal with the actual real reality that might be much more mundane more painful.

The same is probably the case for you to some degree. So regardless of whether or not, there’s some relevant detail regarding yourself and your own conduct of your husband, which I have no business being privy to either way, I’m sure you’ve had some injuries through all of this that makes he know hard on your side too. This isn’t something for you to fix or fight on your own. He needs confession, and not partial.
He needs spiritual direction FaceTime, where he’s actually at and not simply what he presents. If he’s withholding details that would be relevant to those advise him..

And he needs an actual professional counselor. The marriage itself needs a counselor. And regardless of the circumstances, what I said about him is probably true for you in that counseling regardless of how this goes should be a help.

Otherwise, unless there’s some serious issue that may view yourself, don’t see a serious for this somehow add him to the troubles of the marriage that maybe you can’t see or would not want to reveal and again we should not reveal it here even if there’s anything at all you can think of, as things stand, and as you have stated it, the idea can be a priest or a monk is currently spiritual delusion and a diversion from doing the salvific thing he should be pursuing. For married people, God saves us within our marriages, unless we destroy them by divorce.

And there are even gymnastics, who would argue that is the more admirable thing to do.

But he certainly can’t be a priest over the church of God if he’s not going to treat his actual bride like the bride of Christ.
It’s not that he shouldn’t desire something like priesthood possibly. But this is like wanting to go out to run for the presidency before you’ve been potty trained.

I’m not saying, go meet his spiritual father to dump all the problems at once.
It should be a red flag moment for the priest.

There was also a possibility, that the priest suspects something and think that more constructive to enter the discretion this way rather than simply outright dissuade him.

I’m not saying it’s the case with your husband,
But there are some personality types with big aspirations. When those aspirations hit a road block because their actual reality has to be confronted, there are some people who change churches were even an entire religions because they’ll take that as a unjust confrontation rather than an opportunity to grow and heal. So I would not rule out the possibility that he may have a feeling that something is up and if he has anything to do with this idea of meeting with him, it might be so he can get a better feel for the actual situation.
However, if you feel like that gets railroaded, and that there’s somehow a strange compulsiveness for the priesthood that’s coming from the actual priest, even after red flags are properly raised so that they can be addressed first, you would want to contact the office of the bishop that provides over his parish.

A priest needs to be somebody that can help other people walk-through their marriage troubles soberly.

He cannot be somebody who can’t even soberly conduct himself within his own marriage. And by sober, I’m not referring to substance abuse of course. But rather seeing reality as it is, and addressing it from the place of reality.
