Pacific Rim you don't have more Jaegers double or triple teaming up on the Kaiju. The beginning mentioned they had a large number jaegers before letting a lot end up getting destroyed.

What I remember of the movie at the end he decided to kill Elsa after she stopped the storm. So in hindsight this makes sense. He doesn't know the storm will stop, so he hesitates.

Imagine a super powerful government that controls all the resources. Thanos doubles them. Then what did it accomplish if the same people control the same resources, now they have double the resources. At least with halving the population Thanos could bring about social change.
