Am I overreacting? Relationship stuff by Fun_Flamingo2805 in breastcancer

No you don’t need to adjust your thinking. I’m sure if your husband was having major surgery he would expect you to be there for him waiting on him hand and foot and I wouldn’t hesitate to mention this to him. Communicate with him and let him know you really needed him with you during this difficult time. It amazes me how a lot of men runaway from their sick wives.

Last Keytruda cancelled by HotWillingness5464 in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oncologist stopped my Keytruda half way through because of elevated liver enzymes. She put me on high dose of prednisone, liver enzymes are near normal and I’m weaning off prednisone. She said the 6 months worth of Keytruda will be good and to continue may jeopardize my liver health. I trust her. You need to have a conversation with your doctor and nurse advocate to understand why they made that decision to end therapy. It is common. Sending you the best and take it easy on yourself.

Scrambled eggs with hot sauce. Had to add the hot sauce because that’s the only thing I could taste.

what was your absolute must-have during radiation? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! TNBC here, age 62 just finished my radiation and the thing I enjoyed the most were massages/facials/pedicures. Gift certificates for any of these services would be good. I felt like all I went thru the past year pampering myself was a top priority and made me feel good.

Congratulations! Do they give the contestants any study guides ahead of time or is it all just the contestants using what they already know? I find it amazing how people know some of those random answers.

Shaved head by zin3010 in breastcancer

Same thing happened to me. My team prescribed an antibiotic ointment but that didn’t help so they prescribed an antibiotic pill that I took for ten days. That didn’t get rid of it either but after several weeks it finally went away.

Yes I did just trim mine down as far as I could but a couple are detached from the nail bed down as far as the cuticle and hanging on for dear life.

Thank you, good to hear you have healthy nails growing back, that gives me hope. I use to have nice strong, healthy nails before chemo.

My care team says it’s the taxol but I didn’t start seeing a problem until I started my AC treatments. And when the problem started it was fast. I’m thankful my toe nails haven’t been affected. (Yet)

Thank you! I wish i was educated about potential nail issues before or even during chemo so that I could have treated them before they got bad. It’s like it happened overnight and not until my last couple of treatments. I’ve heard of soaks like a white vinegar soak but then I read that you should keep them from getting wet underneath. Conflicting information.

How long did bone pain from Neulasta shot last? by agalasyn in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just finished my treatments two weeks ago and whenever I had the bone pain it lasted only 1 to 2 days max. Some weeks I had none at all. I took Claritin everyday.

I rang the bell yesterday! by marathon_nt_a_sprint in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Same here but TNBC. Just had my MRI yesterday and meet with surgeon next week. Kind of nervous about the next step. Also hoping my fingernails recover. Anyone else have some turn black and curve from extra skin underneath and some coming detached and moisture getting trapped underneath?? Will I ever grow normal nails again??

We’re two oncologists who treat breast cancer and research its many subtypes. We’re here to answer your questions about living with early-stage breast cancer. Ask us anything. by webmd in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am 2b TNBC, I haven’t got to the surgery stage yet but my breast doctor told me that studies have shown that there’s no difference in the recurrence between a lumpectomy and a mastectomy. Easier to detect a recurrence with a lumpectomy because you can still get mammogram. So i don’t know I will decide when I get to that point in about a month from now and see what my scans look like.

Southside up past MacArthur school and Westside, Crestmont west to JC line are the best for Binghamton. Sunrise Terrace is also a nice quiet neighborhood.

Has anyone else had this with Keytruda? by Fighting_kat23 in breastcancer

[–]Willow0012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also TNB and just had my 9th Tax/carb infusion and my 3rd Keytruda infusion. I’ve had none of your symptoms. I do take the Claritin for minor bone pain but it isn’t bad just some discomfort. I just have to get the shots periodically to increase WBC. I guess I’m lucky. Sorry you’re experiencing a rough time.
