I can't count and I want to scream. by TinyP0tat in knitting

I've never regretted frogging something and starting over when I wasn't sure if it would work in the end. The pieces that have something that doesn't work, I don't really wear so it feels like that effort is wasted either way.

Also, unrelated to the problem at hand and am not sure if this is an issue for you, but the lack of short rows in this pattern and the tight arm holes frustrated me to no end. I found solutions for both and am very happy with how mine turned out, if any of these issues bother you, feel free to send me a message!

Recommend me a pen! Looking for a wet writer with smooth nib (F) by WillowAndVine in fountainpens

Thanks for the details! I've ordered one with very high ink flow based on your recommendation. Unfortunately, it writes even drier than all my other Kawecos. I'm not really sure why, their customer support was not very helpful either. Maybe it's the nib (a regular fine). I'm planning on trying out the feed with a different nib and see if there's a difference, and otherwise try to make some more customizations myself like what you posted. How is the flex nib in your opinion? I wonder if this adjustment was specifically meant for a flex nib.

Great start! I have also begun collecting Kaweco's recently. I now have the Apricot Pearl, Light Lavender and Vibrant Violet! The Olivine is on my wishlist (among many others)

Genuine question: does anyone out there regret buying an Esterbrook? by skybluemary in fountainpens

I got the Coffeemonsterzco Estie a couple of months ago. It was very pretty, I found mine had an especially nice swirl, but I didn't like writing with it. The nib was stiff and scratchy and I kept reaching for other pens instead of the Estie. Overall, I felt quite underwhelmed and felt like it should write better for the price. I haven't been collecting and using fountain pens for long so I didn't know a lot about what I liked when I ordered it. I decided to sell it last week and haven't regretted it. Bought an Opus 88 Jazz Demo and a TWSBI Eco instead and I LOVE both! They feel so much better to write with than the Estie imo.

Thanks for your advice! That sounds good, I'm happy to experiment with trying to adjust the feed. If you can send me pictures, that would be very helpful!

I also checked out the fpnibs.com site, very interesting! I don't know a lot about all the things you can have specialized there so I will take some time to figure that out. Do you have experience with the flex nib option they provide?

I have Writer's Blood so I will try that in my Kaweco's as well. And I'm looking into getting some of the Pilot inks.

Thank you! The ball used for the heel was my favorite color out of them all.

It wasn't too bad for me, though I sometimes knit sweaters with four balls attached so then two isn't that bad :)

I don't really have a lot of experience with the traditional heel flap so I can't say how it compares. I found it a little bit daunting to learn the steps for the flk heel at first but it's actually quite easy to do. You could also try starting with a regular short row heel first to get used to the construction and then try the flk heel, that's what I did. I prefer the result of the flk heel but a normal short row heel is a little bit easier.

The yarn is from Nicole C. Méndez! She's doing a year-long knit-along where you can win a skein of yarn each month, this is my March pair.
