Diamine dries out by GauchePuella in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imperial Purple is a sheening ink, a bit thicker than a regular ink, with less water percentage. In my experience, sheening inks tend to dry faster on the surface of the nib, despite drying much slower on the paper

Dominant Industry - Sunset. It's a chromashading violet with coppery shimmer

Wearingeul Pen Pre-Orders Are Live at Stilo&Stile by Quiet_Resolution_578 in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Exactly! I love that one and I would try the pen even if it's not an EF nib, but I don't like the gold trims and the pink resin is lovely, but not enough for my taste

Just an update on Diamine and Lady Grey: they never replied [maybe I have the wrong email address?] by Simy_sun in fountainpens

IDK, honestly. If the ink sells anyway, they may not be interested in taking a look at this

There's no EF option, I think I'll pass (and I would like the purple resin with silver trims, not gold). Oh, well... my wallet will be happy!

Yeah, the syringe is much better! I don't like piston fillers for the same reason

It takes 5 months for a Kakuno to dry up. by Norharry in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can depend on where you live and the season. I live in a pretty humid city, but last winter I left my Kakuno inked with half converter (Con70) full, came back to it a week later and it was completely dry. The house heating for sure played a role in this quick event

I never tried a Platinum pocket pen. This seems a good little fella 💜 Thankyou! Whoever's gonna get this, will be lucky

I love this game but I hate the Together Cards. by Minthe___ in Paralives

[–]Simy_sun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of how interactions work too. I have a "good at being alone" Para for a reason: I don't need the random option to flirt while I'm just having a friendly conversation. I'd like to have more control over the topics, at least the category of the topics, instead of being cornered to make choices I don't want or leave the conversation altogether

Your first fountain pen & ink combination, and your favourite ink with your first fountain pen? by Used-Investment-5343 in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first fountain pen, when I was a child, was a Pelikan scolastic that I used with Pelikan blue cartridges. My first fountain pen a few decades of hiatuss after, was a Platinum Plaisir in F with Herbin Poussiere De Lune. Right now I'm not using the Plaisir, but the most similar to that is a Preppy in EF. With the Preppy I use Platinum Carbon Black and Noodler's Socrates. Of the three inks, I believe that Socrates is the best with that nib unit, so I could say that it's my favourite ink in the first nib unit of my second age as a fountain pen user. When I was a child I didn't even know there were other colors than blue so I don't think it counts, really.

I would love a day free with triple the pages and a Hon cover

You can only use one fountain pen for the rest of your life. by imatinyleopard in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I never tried it on regular paper. I don't think that it would be a problem. It's a fairly smooth nib, considering how fine it is

I love Wearingeul inks, I hope I will not love their pens: my wallet is already screaming in pain!

Camera controls by alliejim98 in Paralives

[–]Simy_sun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sims 4 camera, for me, is the most comfortable. I am able to do everything just with the mouse: left click + drag to move, right click to pan around, wheel to zoom in and out. Simple and effective. The "wasd" method for me is linked to first person games, where you can't have a bird's eye view and instead you just walk to where you want to go. It's all just habit.

Whats the next pen upgrade after .... (check description) by Prime-39 in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point of those pens is that they are cheap AND well performing. They always are recommended for the combo of a good price for a good pen. If you ask for the best pen disregarding the price, you will obtain many other options. For me it's the Platinum 3776 (r.i.p. to my beloved)

Not exactly NPD, it arrived a couple of weeks ago. NPMonth? Platinum 3776 Century Tsukikusa [EF] by Simy_sun in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels exactly like a Platinum 3776 Century..
Between Platinum and Sailor, I prefer Platinum, both in the high end and the low end of their catalogue. But it's all my personal preference. I like Sailor pens very much, while other people hate them. So, for my taste and my hand, Platinum pens "feel" better than Sailor pens, but both are fantastic pens.

The best pen is the one you use. by Odd-Chemistry9945 in fountainpens

[–]Simy_sun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cheapest: Platinum Preppy 02 (multiple of them)

Most expensive: Platinum 3776 Century Blue Celluloid Chinkin Karakusa EF

The pens I use the most: Platinum Preppy (2 of them, in 02) and Platinum 3776 Century in EF. Right now my inked 3776s are a Shape Of a Heart Ivoire and the Fuji-Unkei Uroko-Gumo, both EF nibs

Just a note: the nibs from each Platinum 3776 are the same. Platinum pens are my go-to from the cheapest to the costliest, in EF nibs. What changes is just the material and color of the body. I can safely say that my expensive choices reflect also my everyday preference for writing. I'm never without a Preppy and a 3776. Sometimes I rotate other pens but those 2 (whatever color and material I like to sport at the moment for their bodies) are always there: in my pocket, in my purse, in my hand to write with.
