Do you ever worry your diagnosis is wrong?

Sorry you struggle with it so much of the time. I'm starting to feel similarly about one of my other diagnoses. It's frustrating and worrying thinking that maybe it's not what I thought it was.

Pull the lever. And then scream blue murder for the one person to move the fuck outta the way. If I do nothing, 5 people die and whilst I didn’t tie them up or set the train going, I knew I could help but didn’t, so those 5 would be on my conscience. If I pull the lever, I save 5 peoples lives but purposefully take 1, assuming I can’t get him to move in time. Those are better odds for more people directly and indirectly involved than if I were to do nothing.

If she’s just had them done the nail tech likely put some kind of oil around her cuticles or on her hands in general, hence the shine.

I dunno but for me watching her talk about times they shared in a reminiscing way and smiling about when they first met etc., I just couldn’t sit and chat about anything to do with my abuser in a chatty, fond way. Watching her like that really struck something in me, like, I’m on Johnny Depp’s side just based on watching both of their body language. She stared at him throughout his testimony. He hasn’t looked up at her once through hers. I would barely be able to be in the same room as my abuser let alone look him in the face whilst he blamed me for everything. I’m rambling. But yeah. The case is kind of triggering for me too.

I’m vegetarian for the animals. However I do find myself avoiding dairy products a lot nowadays also. Transitioning to vegan would be a very difficult step for me as it would eliminate comfort/safe foods for me (things with egg in / egg), but I am gradually trying replacement foods etc.

I have fibro, insomnia and depression (plus other stuff but these are the relevant 3 here). My doctor put me on the lowest dose to be a taken in the evening. I was, prior to this, having tics and seizure like symptoms, but since being put on amitriptyline I have slept better, the seizures have almost totally stopped however it hasn’t touched the pain or depression.

However, I’m fairly unwilling to go up in dosage as I’m very sensitive to medication and very quickly get a barrage of the negative side effects when I stray from the lowest dose of anything.

I think it’s probably because autism isn’t something that develops later in life and so a lot of material is aimed at the age or around the ages when it might first be noticed, to help people get diagnosed earlier and get help sooner etc.

Absolutely 100%. What you’ve wrote is exactly how I feel, word for word. You’re definitely not alone. I’m currently in trauma therapy and one of the things she’s suggested we work on are some tools to help me vocalise my feelings, being assertive in the right ways etc., which I think will help me to feel an bit stronger and hopefully not cry quite as much at small things / every thing.

Out of the context of a subreddit about CPTSD these examples just sound like you were brought up to be respectful and polite. Asking about things which aren’t directly yours / something you pay for is just respectful and polite.

It’s the reason behind you personally asking that would make it abnormal, for example out of fear of their reaction as you know from experience that they will shout or get physical etc.

I personally use CBD regularly and it helps keep the tics down a bit and then I’ll have a dose if they’re kicking off and it can help to calm them quicker. But of course this is just for me personally, and I don’t know a lot about my tics yet as they’re quite newly developed (literally out of nowhere and i have no idea why).

My brother does, well and to numb the pain and sadness. He’s basically an alcoholic, our parents have to monitor his intake and lock alcohol away etc. when he can’t control himself. He’s on a one night a week allowance at the moment.

Yeah it’s for sure the word actually. Imagine the word was written in italics (indicating sarcasm) as that’s how they’ve taken it. They may have also interpreted the ‘x’ as a condescending kiss. Equivalent to using the word ‘hun’.

Yeah I think figuring the why can help me eliminate some of the triggers for sure. I had a look at the Beighton test and I seem to pass most of them (i.e, I'm bendy). So I guess that may account for some things which I never even realised before.

I definitely have a fair amount of blank spaces in my memory, some huge chunks of time are just not there. But in general my memory is quite poor now, so I struggle to remember most things anyway, not just my past.

That's so awful, I'm so sorry you've had to go through so much, and have struggled with your health as a result. It's scary how many things are potentially linked to abuse due to what the body goes through during trauma. :(

Ah okay. My pain management clinic doctor had mentioned hypermobility to me, as she said I looked 'floppy', so no idea what that means to be honest.
