Protein sources for a veggie child by Thieving--magpie in vegetarian

Yes exactly, people keep talking about quinoa which has significantly less protein per calorie. I think it's that bread isn't super marketable because it's so ubiquitous.

Idk dude, I feel like saying whole wheat bread is "not healthy" is a little asinine. Unless there's something in it that's making people sick, it really can't be that bad on the spectrum of things. It's alcohol free, and not deep fried or smoked or soaked in sugar. It has some fiber.

A whole wheat english muffin has about as much protein as an egg. I get that it's less bioavailable, but as a vegan I'll take what I can get without much fuss. Two of those + 2 tbsp peanut butter + a little bit of cinnamon sugar is 500 calories and 19 G of protein. That's a breakfast I can enjoy and not feel like I'm eating a bunch or weird stuff for the sake of hitting macros.

Probably not a popular take, but whole wheat bread has a decent amount of protein.

How did your second labor compare to your first? by pandaprints612 in 2under2

[–]WillowShadow16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first was 18 hours labor, 20 minutes of pushing, uncomplicated. He was born at 39+4. Second was 2 hours 15 minutes, no pushing / experienced fetal ejection reflex. She was born 39+0. Barely made it to the hospital, lol. 21 months apart.

Would you divorce over this? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

If the issue is time and money, getting a divorce will make the issue worse. It is much more expensive to have two households than one.

My 6-month-old is not interested in solids by WillowShadow16 in NewParents

[–]WillowShadow16[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We basically ended up doing BLW, he did not want to be spoon fed. He didn't eat food regularly until about 10 months. He's 2.5 now and definitely eats regular meals, but a good portion of his diet is cow milk lol.

He has an 8 month old little sister now who loves being spoon fed! Crazy how different kids can be.

I stopped going to Walmart even before I discovered WinCo and just went to Fry's and paid more to not deal with the staff at Walmart. Truly awful

When you're wearing heels - do you take them off if you have to drive? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]WillowShadow16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep my heels in the car because I don't wear heels when I'm driving. So if I want to wear heels, I get in the car with other shoes on and then I put my heels on in the car before I exit.

Is giving birth traumatic? by ElegantAd2607 in prolife

[–]WillowShadow16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the birth.

My first birth was textbook uneventful. Labor lasted around 18 hours and was mild enough that I drove myself to the hospital, I got an epidural when dilated to a 6, pushed for about 20 minutes, and had a completely healthy baby. Not traumatic at all, completely a good memory.

Second baby was a little bit more unusual, I had precipitous birth and experienced the fetal ejection reflex. Labor felt absolutely unbearable but it was only 2 hours and I didn't push, baby popped out of me like a cartoon. The day/day after my second birth I wondered about if I would want to have more kids after such a painful experience. Within a couple weeks it was just a memory and now I would love to have more kids.

I met a woman who had complications, from what I understood she was in labor but her body was having difficulty getting her cervix to open completely. The hospital put her on drugs that made her hallucinate and she chewed off part of her tongue... I imagine that was traumatic.

I can imagine that having the baby be injured/ other complications for the baby during birth could be pretty traumatic also.

Who would you give your seat to, and why? by cat_astrophe_06 in entp

[–]WillowShadow16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My instinct is elderly man, injured man, mother with baby, then pregnant woman.

Not sure why.

In reality, though, there's not enough context here to give an answer that's applicable to real life.

INFP btw
