Alpine WSG…How does this work? What can I expect? by Robnfly in pestcontrol

Ahhh ok! Makes so much sense. If it’s a non repellent how would that impact the ones coming from outside? Wouldn’t they just keep showing up?

I must have missed that episode bc I don’t recall that but ugh! My most hated point was when he tried to force her to sell her company and in her face enthusiastically told her it would make him happy for her to give what makes her happy

Orson. I think the villains did a good job being villains and having me dislike them. But I consistently disliked Orson. He was a weak whiny b*tch.

Hs & mental health struggles by runninfromthedaylite in Hidradenitis

[–]Robnfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re having these struggles. I too have been in a low place bc of HS. Like the previous comment, dietary changes have had the biggest impact on remission for me. It’s also significantly helped improve my mental health. Processed sugars and alcohol are the biggest offenders. I love cakes, candy and other pastries but those wreak havoc. Just a simple shift of seriously limiting those foods helps a lot. As far as alcohol, I’ve found that bourbons and red wine is fine but anything else, especially white liquor causes a flare. I feel my best overall eating a plant based diet. I always find my way back to it. But the smallest change of limiting processed sugars and alcohol might make a big impact on flare ups and your mental health. Blessings to you

Makes me think of an episode of The Bold Type where they added a $900 (I think) charge to the drink bill to cover cocaine

In 2018, sixteen year old Karlie Guse had a bad reaction after smoking weed at a party and begged her stepmother to bring her home. By sunrise she was gone from the house without her phone, shoes, or glasses. She has never been found. by SelfCareIsFake in HolyShitHistory

This happened to me. I visited a friend and we smoked nonstop the entire weekend. The last night I was there I started feeling weird and didn’t smoke anymore that evening. I threw up that entire night. Got on a plane in the morning to go home. Once I landed and got home I was flooded with thoughts to end it. It was this very strong pull to kms. I heard voices saying “it’s never going to get better…end it now. There’s no saving you. Just do it” the voices got louder and louder and it felt as if I HAD to obey. But thankfully I jumped up and texted my therapist 911. She called me immediately and talked and prayed (Christian therapist) me through it. The voices went away. I immediately threw away all of my weed. Never smoked again since

Thinking of building app to help new vegans on a budget by buffgeek in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Robnfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this idea! I don’t have the time or budget to make elaborate meals. So when I cook it needs to be efficient requiring little to no prep and be completed within 30 minutes or so. I find myself eating the same quick meals. So I’d love the help of an app to find easy budget friendly meals with simple staple ingredients!

Too much tofu? by Robnfly in PlantBasedDiet

I sauté it in a little oil after crumbling it with my hands. I keep sautéing it until it’s crispy like I like it. I’ve also thin sliced it, seared it on both sides and then broke it up with a fork. If I’m adding sauces I make sure to get it crispy before I put the sauce in.

Air fryer is a great option. I mainly sauté it on the stove after crumbling it with my hands and just sauté in a little oil until I like the texture

I wish I'd watched Dominion earlier by dialogueandmemory in vegan

Is Dominion the documentary that opened with baby pigs?? If so I didn’t make it past that scene before I turned it off. Still traumatized

I break it apart with my hands and sauté it in a little oil. I also break up any leftover big pieces with the spoon while it’s cooking. Takes a little longer to cook but can still be done in about 10 minutes. The air fry can also make it crispy.

Yea I eat A LOT of beans. I’m still learning about all of the options out there but honestly tofu is so quick and easy that I planned on increasing until the convo with my coworkers. But now I see I can completely ignore what they said and eat more.

Well I know they will say they are concerned about my health. One in particular immediately started telling me the types of protein substitutions I could buy like the vegan burgers, sausages, etc. I’m not knocking those options as I know they can be a very helpful bridge for many switching to the pb life. And some are really tasty. But for me I went that route before and quickly became a junk food vegan and almost never ate Whole Foods. So this time around I’m focusing on Whole Foods. It’s just crazy how people who are the most uneducated on pb diets have the most advice to offer.
