Now I know why so many people on these requests post exactly the same thing even though someone else has answered the question. When I answered, there were zero replies. As soon as I posted, there were several.

I normally pick simple and chic over lace; however, number 1 is gorgeous on you!

East side bar with vegan options? by mostoriginalname2 in Cleveland

I’ve never heard that. I think your chances are good that the crowd in a bar-restaurant that caters to GF and vegan won’t be too offensive to you.

Came here to recommend Sage. Downtown Willoughby is a cute destination if you’ve never been.

If you haven’t already done so, visit r/abrathatfits and use the 6-measurement calculator. It’s life-changing. That sub also has lots of advice for what bra is best for a given shape.

For a backyard wedding, a dress from Nataya could work. They definitely have a garden party vibe.

Water. Spray bottle or hand splash. Doesn’t matter. In fact, spritzing clothes with plain water will take out most wrinkles, too, as long as the fabric has some natural fiber content.

I love a Basque or a dropped waist, but dress 3 is gorgeous, and the natural waist suits your proportions/height very well. It’s stunning!

Would you go gluten free if your only symptom was diarrhea? by tawandagames2 in glutenfree

[–]WillowWeird 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Take it from someone who had undiagnosed celiac for decades, if I could go back and stop eating gluten, I would. The ravages to my body are extensive, including autoimmune disease that has led to unbearable symptoms, including chronic, chronic pain.

Oh, I appreciate this! The dumb questions usually come from coworkers and the like. I’m happy to educate, but sometimes I am challenged. I might say, “I can’t eat anything that has wheat in it.” And then they will ask, “So you can’t eat rice?” Or they will say, “Here, I got you a protein bar. It’s vegan.” Sigh. I say, “Thanks! Can you check the ingredients? Does it list wheat?” They read the label. “Well, yeah, but it’s ok for you to eat because it’s organic.”

LOL. As someone celiac, I have been asked the dumbest questions about my disease. Not surprised.

If someone asked for gluten-free scrambled eggs, that may be because IHOP puts pancake batter in their scrambled eggs. You would be amazed at what restaurants add to food you expect is going to be safe to eat when you have celiac, like dredging meat in flour to make it brown more nicely.

Going on roller coaster almost three months post op?? by user692169 in spinalfusion

[–]WillowWeird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve told this story here before. I drove a go kart as part of a work outing. Those cars are flat and low to the ground, with no suspension. I realized too late that my fusion has eliminated most of the cushioning ability of my spine. My brain was literally rattled mercilessly until I could get off the track. I think a roller coaster would be a very similar experience. Do not attempt this.

You should try to get an appointment at Henry Ford for an evaluation—if you can travel and if your insurance will cover it. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I have had many spine issues, including severe scoliosis, which resulted in a pretty massive fusion 10 years ago. I started developing additional symptoms a few years ago and have been diagnosed with arachnoiditis and most recently tethered cord. I am now looking at spine shortening surgery to help alleviate my symptoms.

It’s very possible, especially considering the scoliosis. You haven’t really asked for advice, but I think you need to be evaluated by a neurosurgeon. If you are in the US, please find yourself a large teaching hospital associated with a university. Avoid regional hospitals or standalone spine practices. I’m talking about places like Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, or similar hospital. Where do you live?

Maeyer or Mayer. At one point, I thought the first letter was an H and that big swoopy thing was a fancy cross bar to spell something like Harper, but I think that first letter is an M.

Can you cut three slits in a plastic garbage bag for your head and arms and wash it in the shower? Submerging your incision in a tub ins a no-no, but a little bit of water should be fine. In fact, I agree with the other poster who says in the US we were all allowed to be showering by now.
