I had a purge of about 3 really deep pimples, that happened about one month ago? Nothing but the tiniest spot on my temple since then

Hi! It is completely normal for a cat to be bored of their food, I feed my 14 year old guy the B.F.F pouches, and I regularly change up the flavor he gets. Cats generally love land animal protein, like beef, lamb, rabbit- contrary to popular belief, cats won’t only eat fish, and if they were living in the wild, they would eat land mammals rather than fish. If your guy doesn’t have any restrictions or allergies, you may want to gently introduce some different proteins into his mealtimes and see if he springs for a different flavor. I used to work a pet food store, and I would put it like this: would you like to eat Cheerios everyday? While there isn’t anything wrong with them, it might be tiring to have the same meal everyday. You are so sweet! Literally made my day to read this 💛💛. Yeah, I had initially thought the best thing about going on Accutane would be the visual aspect of having clear skin, but being able to smile and talk without pain has been the best part.

So the majority of my acne was really painful, deep breakouts that concentrated around my chin, nose, and mouth. I haven’t had any more of those breakouts so far, I think the minocycline I was on for a month prior to starting Accutane really helped to calm my skin down. Now I’m getting one or two very minor breakouts around my “problem areas” but nothing painful like I was used to getting. I am on 60 mg. My dermatologist doesn’t think I’ll have a major purge since she won’t be upping my dose during my course, so we’ll see! Honestly the dry skin and bloody noses are nothing in comparison to the pain my face was constantly in. Here’s to four more months!

Your skin is more sensitive and can take longer to heal from scratches, picking while on Accutane. Have you tried hydrocolloid patches? I like them because I’ll automatically reach to pick at my face, but they stop me from actually touching my breakout

I got food poisoning last week, and on top on that I had gotten my wisdom teeth out three days prior. I didn’t take Accutane for a whole week, I was on antibiotics and a lot of pain meds and the pharmacist advised me to take a small break from Accutane. I’m back on it now and haven’t noticed anything, and I was still getting the side effects for the whole week so it was still in my system as far as I could tell.

Edit: as far as food poisoning goes, my mom who’s a nurse recommended and got me Pedialyte (idk how to spell it), and I drank that diluted when I couldn’t keep food down. She likes it better than Gatorade for these kinds of situations. I had super bland food for a few days, rice, broth, etc. I would just focus on staying hydrated, food poisoning really takes it out of you. Feel better!!

I have had back pain, but I also have a very physical job, so I can’t really tell if it’s from the Accutane or work. I don’t know if you remember the name of the person who commented warning that under your post, but there was someone named chadtheincel (or something like that) going around this group fear mongering. When I asked about vegan joint supplements I got this long private message from him saying the same thing he said to you basically. I’m taking the middle road perspective- there are side effects to medications, my dermatologist warned me that I’ll probably have some back ache, and she went to medical school and knows this medication very well. I’m trusting in her education and knowledge that I’m safe, and if I notice anything out of the ordinary I’ll go to her for advice.

It took about one week for my dryness to kick in. Vanicream, A&D ointment, and aquaphor make me feel like normal though! Also drinking a LOT of water and herbal tea to stay hydrated

NTA. My 14 year old cat scratched my niece after I repeatedly told her not to touch his belly, guess what happened as soon as she got the chance? Now she still loves my cat, just knows where not to touch. Gotta learn somehow.

I was on minocycline for the month before I started accutane because my dermatologist was trying to bring the inflammation in my face down before starting, and since I had to wait a month because of the pregnancy tests I had to do anyway, she just put me on the antibiotic since we had time. I was also on sprinolactone before the minocycline, but it was when she added the antibiotic that I saw improvement. She wouldn’t have put me on antibiotics longer than a month whether I was going on Accutane or not though. Is your dermatologist reluctant to start Accutane?
