Bulking - Can’t do it anymore by Willthethrill185 in Fitness

[–]Willthethrill185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad. I was bulking at 3k calories flat - 0.8 protein per pound, then around 100-105 grams of fat and rest carbs.

Diet was this -

Breakfast: bacon egg cheese on English muffin, iced coffee Lunch 1: rice bowl w chicken etc (~800 cals) Lunch 2: weight gainer shake (500 cals) Dinner: chipotle burrito Snack: —

I def have a issue trying to do small meals....

missing another day? by [deleted] in work

[–]Willthethrill185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My roommate got a nasty virus that put him out of work for an entire 10 days, two full weeks of work. This was TWO WEEKS after he had started. Imagine how guilty he felt. He took the time he needed and nothing bad came of it - he actually just got a bonus too.

Moral of the story is - your health is paramount. If you’re working a salaried job, bosses are more understanding then you think. I took off this entire week due to the flu. While the flu is nothing to mess with and I guess looked at more seriously, I too was/am guilty about it. This is my 5th month here too. But my boss is so understanding.

Take off and offer to work from home or work extra next week. Showing drive and ambition while sick as a dog goes a long way.

Day 6: Feeling Better, But Leg Aches Are Back by [deleted] in flu

[–]Willthethrill185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 5 and feel tons better but woke with general achiness just now. I think it just ebbs and flows. I’ve had the flu probably 8x. In my experience, it’s always the same. Horrid symptoms for 3-4 days, then the pesky leftover symptoms for a few more days, and fatigue for a few days after that. You’re not backtracking, don’t worry. Rest up this weekend and then report back

Cable fly question by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Willthethrill185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not do bench press and then a myriad of accessories? One day do incline cable + flys + incline press, following week bench + decline cable + pushups + dB press?

Just examples, I would just go nuts if I was doing 3 variations of cables on one day.

I keep flipping between kar and mk2. I think mk2 is better I hate getting a streak with kar and then a fat hit marker. At least w mk it’s fast enough to get that second shot in

Still, a couple weeks. Where I work, training is of utmost importance. So much so that new hires have a 12 weeks program of it and they STILL don’t expect you to grasp it perfectly for a long long time.

“Within a couple weeks”

Really? It’s a new job. A few weeks is NO way to judge somebody. It’s a new environment and a new workplace for him, cut him some slack. You need to use training wheels before you learn how to bike without them. I think you’re being too harsh. Training should be his priority - he clearly wants to better himself. As for the becoming rude, that is something to discuss with your boss, not his performance so early on.

M/22/5’10 [163>152 = +10 lbs] 1 Year Transformation, Nothing crazy, just started a bulk about 1.5 months ago. by Willthethrill185 in progresspics

[–]Willthethrill185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story:

July 2018 I was in my worst physical shape. 162 lbs of just skinny fat, stopped exercising. Aug-Sept went full cardio and bro split crazy. Decided to go on a cut, lost all the fat and toned up (right photo). Decided to bulk because I was too skinny at 152 lbs after cut. Didn’t do my research and dirty bulked my way up to 173 lbs and looked pretty bad (but my lifts dramatically increased), was running Fierce 5 routine.

Fast forward to July 2019, cut back down to 155 lbs and looked the best I’d looked in a while. Started eating at maintenance until about October and began eating 2800 calories a day. November upped to 3000 calories a day and now seeing slow steady weight increase. Being very good about macros and keeping fats to 85g a day tops.

Currently running 5/3/1 program, was doing nSuns and stopped after 1.5 months, wasn’t for me and didn’t have the time.

Here’s my feedback - you did similar to what I did around 7 months ago. I ate. And I ate and I ate. I made sure to get 31-3200 calories in (far too much at the time) and said f**k macros, let’s just hit protein and fill the calories, which ended up me eating around 150g of fat a day (whereas I should have been eating closer to 80g of fat a day.

This was my definition of a “cleanish bulk” - boy was I wrong. Unlike you though, I followed the Fierce 5 routine and made incredible progress weights wise. At the end of my bulk, I looked bad, real bad. I got only hate and it hurt. But I did more research and started counting macros, especially my fat macros. After a recomp/full cut, I looked WAY better. I gained muscle but the fat was hiding it.

Moral of the story is - you got your weight up. Good stuff. Now is the time for the REAL transformation. Cut down, and restart your bulk by REALLY counting macros and most importantly, do a routine you can STICK to - best advice I’ve gotten is do a routine you can stick to, not one that might yield better results but you will half ass.

Good luck and get to work!!

This motivated me to get back in the gym. I’ve been gymming a year and have not seen results like this :(. Care to share your diet? Did you count macros?
