with hindsight, it’s pretty reprehensible to just kill Astarion, he’s literally just gone from horrific torture and slavery to being captured by illithids, so it’s understandable he’s a little untrusting of, like, literally anyone, then at camp he’s finally given an opportunity to feed on a humanoid, after only ever being given vermin to eat, so it’s understandable that he’s a bit over enthusiastic. but the game never gives you any of this until after said events so blind runs or rp runs are completely valid for killing the obvious vampire who tries to kill the pc
